The following instructions will greatly help out the rest of the Droid community who does not want to wait over the next few days for the update to randomly arrive on their device. If you follow them, you will be able to capture the update file and spread the love with the rest of us!

the OP should be updated with that INFO so newcomers can see right from the first post what they should be doing when they get the update in notification bar

Yeah it appears to be legit. I was pretty skeptical for a while as well.

I guess I will wait until tonite to really jump on board that it is REALLY going out to more users or wait until the update zip is posted.

Well I wouldnt be surprised if we still dont see alot tonight, only 9000 more.. but tomorrow night I think it will be crazy if all this proves to be true..

That would explain his sense of "Sluggish" ...

I'd assume you could just connect the device to your computer via USB, copy it over, and upload but, but honestly, that screams impatience lol

Not to mention, I'd assume those first "1,000" are Verizon employees as they are probably guaranteed new phones as long as they agree to participate in testing; rather smart if you ask me. Big company, large number of employees/guinea pigs...test your stuff on them before the general public.

I am beginning the interview with VZW tomorrow. I hope this is true!!!! I am looking forward to seeing what kind of benefits they offer as far as phones. Hopefully they will help me spend a lot less on my cell phone addiction
