I dont know if this has been posted already, but Android and Me is saying that they have users reporting receiving the update, and are calling it legit.

Sorry guys... but as long as they are not releasing it, things are becoming better. If they would of released ere25, everyone would of been happy. But no, they didn't. THey made it better and came out with ese53. Everyone again wanted it released. But again, they refused. Now were at ese81. I'm sure its great... but I don't want it released. Keep working on it. Make it even better. Never ever release it. Except in unofficial leaks for us to use.

NO ONE HAS IT. God. IF someone had it and didn't accidentally upgrade, it would be posted. Saying that clogs up this forums for actual questions and stuff. When someone has it, you will hear about it.

Ok, my roommate has confirmed that he will give me the update.zip as soon as he gets it and i will share it... now a few questions

1) can this be applied via the standard update.zip method? (nandroid)
2) will this update.zip remove the root access, i.e not be able to access sprecoverey anymore?

I am hoping that I could make a nandroid back up, apply the 2.1 update.zip, and mess with it, with the ability to go back to my rooted rom at any point easily?

I PROMISE ILL SHARE!!, now can someone answer my 2 questions

I just uninstalled Goggles to save space. Why would I want to now be thrilled to have the advantage of yet another on deck application wasting valuable space? I don't see any advantages to this update. I haven't heard of any advantages to this update. I could rattle off a list of 20 items they should have fixed but don't hear anyone talking about them. I'm wondering if this means that we can put in requests to kingdom come but current models aren't getting fixed, only future ones.

Really, I thought Google Goggles was completely worthless, why would they make this a default app. If you ask me, they should do the reverse; instead of adding more default apps, they should give stock users the power to delete any application that the OS itself doesn't rely on.

Well I'm pretty sure its a legit update because on the product description on verizon's site it now says...

I hope the update.zip will be uploaded fifteen minutes after the midnight rollout so that I can enjoy Two Hours, 45 min of 2.1 on the first release day. Gatta love PST.

I call yet again - FAIL.

He didn't get it - pics of him next to the screen for proof.

Also, since the thing is about 15Mb, one can't simply attach it here on the board, the zip file limit is just under 10Mb ...

So, that said.

If you get it and grab it for everyone else, email it to one of the mods, who can then post it for you.

You get the credit, the love, and all the bi*chin if it screws up someone elses Droid :yahoo:

It amazes me that anyone who has been following this who may have received the notice, and NOT knowing what to do, WOULD come in here and post "Hey, I got the notice on my screen! What do I do for all of us?"

I hope I see it, I think I'd setup a donation on my sig to get it for now muhahahaha ...
