Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

I verified this post. It is indeed true. DON'T BELEIVE IT? Call *611, dial the number the automated voice gave you that corresponds with technical problems, then the nuber the automated voice gives you for the type of device you have (android). Then an actual person should answer your call. Ask them about the date on which the droid will recieve 2.1 The Verizon Support staff i talked to told me it starts today first with 1000 then 9000 this evening and chunks 0f 200,000 every day after a day long break until all have recieved it. It is completely randomized... Although they have started, whose to say that there wont be a delay?

I am still skeptical, but the fact that a couple of the store reps read to me from the update they received confirming that it is rolling out today, 3/30, with the big rollout to start on Thursday 4/1. Of the stores I called, only one rep said she didn't know. That being said, there is still nothing on FB and nothing on Twitter for either company.

At 200,000 a day, it will be another week almost before some of us get it, so we must be patient all the same.

Is there still a chance this is a joke, a mistake, or a rumor? Of course. We will just have to wait and see..

I am not saying that it isn't coming out, but why hasn't someone got their hands on one of those alerts or notifications yet?

I would assume it is going out to a select few Verizon testers/employees first. That may explain it.

I was refering to the notifications that the verizon reps were receiving in their stores.

Someone mentioned about rolling out the update in the relative order the phones were purchased and activated. It makes me curious just how exactly they ARE rolling it out, specifically in the US. I wonder if broken down into blocks of numbers on a server and they go through one server at a time which equates to X number of random people.
