Another Bionic that can't get a data connection... no 4G/3G/1X signal.. only wifi...

Donezo, Had 3 bionic's in a week, finally they are swapping me out for an HTC Rezound, so no more Bionic's for me.

That is what I hope they will do for me. When did you get yours I got mine day one and been complaining ever since. This is my second one

Not sure if it helps but I have read that factory resetting helps, but what most don't tell you is to go slow when re-installing the apps you had before. I left my Bionic "naked" after the last factory reset and it worked fine all day. I have another Motorola device, Droid, that I also used that never lost it's 3G connection. My Bionic couldn't see either, which leads me to believe Verizon may not have as many issues with their network here in VA. So I've just been keeping an eye on my data connection status after I load another app. So far so good...lol!

Been having the same problem here since I got my phone back in November.
I'm in a 3G only area but on the outskirts of a 4GLTE area.
I'd say that i've had data connectivity only about 1/4 of the time. I was hoping the Dec update would fix it but no luck.
Thankfully I saw on here to switch to CDMA only mode and now at least I have data. Not like i used the 4G anyway (although that did work when I was in cities with 4G).

One plus is it seems like my battery life has almost doubled after the switch.
But I agree. This is a HUGE black mark on Verizon.

Does anybody know if the Ice Cream Software will fix this? I have been on the phone with tech support solid for two days. I had one tech rep telling me to remove the battery when I wanted data, that should fix it. I said, "Fine. The battery reset works. How would you like to remove the battery in your car and replace it every time you started your car?" She quit talking to me and pushed me to a level 2 tech rep. The level 2 rep was ready to give me another brand of phone but I hesitate since I am about $125 into accessories for the Bionic since this was going to be my "dream" phone. What a nightmare....

If ICS doesn't fix it or takes too long for release, I am going to hold my breath, turn blue, kick and scream until I get a Rezound! I bought one for my daughter and I am beginning to wish I had passed her the Bionic and kept the Rezound!

OBTW. I went a whole 2 hours before my pos lost data. I tried the airplane mode worked so I have that as a work around until I decide what to do...

guy just get rid of data manager promise you data will be better. turns data off n on but is failing till its fixed just disable it and stays on[/QUOte
I got a Rezound for $150 with extended battery didnt loose an upgrade and kept my Bionic. The Rezound is what the Bionic should have been in the first place. There are a lot of people that say the 901 solves the problems. My Bionic is rooted Im just afraid if I do the 901 I will loose upgrade path. Youbcaj bet if Moto puts it out there gonna change the number just to bust are nuts. I dont think there gonna come out with another OTA until it falls in line with thete ICS scedule whenever that is. It may not fix it then I think it might be a bad apple $htt happens. It was worth the $150 the Rezound is the best phone out there now the only thing makes the Gnex better is ICS.

I called yesterday and was ready to put up the fight of a lifetime. The tech rep I spoke with conceded that he was receiving alot of calls for the Bionic since its release but that since the 893 version, the calls dropped off dramatically. He was willing to give me a Rezound but asked that I do a hard reset first to try it. I did that yesterday afternoon and have not had any loss of data since (down from lost data every time the phone went to sleep). For now I am going to hold on to the Bionic as long as the data flow continues.

Good luck with your decision Im not sure I made the wright decision I now have two phones the Rezound works perfect out of the box and I have my Bionic who still has the same problems if they fux them Im 100% if not Im 50% and out $150 lol

I just joined this forum, and thank goodness I'm not alone in the Bionic battles! I've had mine for a couple of months. Actually on my second one because I kept getting the black screen of death. . . couldn't turn it on or off or do anything until I popped out the battery. Constantly lost data connection. New phone slightly better. Only had to pop out the battery 3 times in the last month. Still have major problems with data connectivity. The phone shows that I have 4GLTE connection, but I cannot connect to any web sites or apps. So I turn off the phone and then back on and wait. For years I was a Blackberry user and NEVER had data problems (with the exception of when RIM network was down) Any hope for the new updates???? I'm ready to throw it out!

Your not alone there is a leaked OTA out 901 but its not offical yet dont know whats up Moto wont give it up. So for now the best you can do i 5.5.893 unless you want to take a chance

I don't have .901 and I've had my Bionic almost a week now and tbh I have had very small issues with mine. Lost 3G a few times but nothing to complain about. Idk if this problem progresses to get worse but right now it seems I have a solid device. Pretty happy with mine, I came from the Nexus that seemed it couldn't make phone calls.
