Battery drains fast!

Me three! At least I'm not alone. I thought that my battery conditioning somehow ruined it!

I've been getting full charge at 97 and 97% everytime I fully charge. This morning it was at 98%, so I unplugged it then plugged it right back in it got to 100% fully charged. I took it off without turning the screen on, drove 10 minutes to work, and then looked at my phone and it was 97%, lol.

Based on the readout he posted, he charged it 3 times significantly. It's still impressive, but he did cheat a bit. :) According to my phone yesterday after 14 hours I was at 50% battery and 38% of that was used by the screen.

So here's a profile that reflects me using it primarily as a phone, couple of web pages, little e-mail, more than an hour of phone calls, and no charging overnight. Standard battery, BT ON (but no active paired device), WiFi ON, 4g ON, NFC ON, and about 19.5 hours to 55%:

took my phone off the charger last night about 10:30 at 100%. i woke up at 6:30, it was down to 3%. Silly me, left my skype logged in.

The battery life I posted above was with Settings/Developer options/Force GPU rendering turned OFF. I did so because of a list of apps that are incompatible that's being collected over at XDA, but this seems to be a fringe benefit - before this I was on a track to about 28 hours, now I'm on a track to 40 if I leave it alone or make a call or two...

This is overnight for me.....took it off the charger and didn't mess with it. Anybody want to help me understand why it was awake the whole night?
Oh and this was on 3g the whole time because I don't get great 4g reception in my room.

Ah thank you. I never noticed the trace there. Good learning there. Thank you. Now I can bust his chops about never charging it...

And for all of the rest *****ing about the battery gauge not beeing at "100%" when you unplugg it or it falls to 90% very fast..
Your battery gauge is lying to you (and it's not such a bad thing) - xda-developers You're welcome.

(Hint: You phones battery last longer if you keep it at 20-80%. Above that and it oxidises really fast..under 20% and close to 0% it stresses the mekanism and if you're really unlucky to go UNDER 0% You risk destroying it..)

Edit: sorry didnt see you there Creed :p

I love the takeaway:

Beyond that, the best advice I can offer is to stop paying such close attention to your battery gauge and to just use your phone. Charge it whenever you can, and then stop obsessing over the exact numbers. If you really need more usage time, buy an extended-capacity battery and use it normally.
