Battery drains fast!

Here's mine after the first full day of revolution. With not quite as heavy use as usual, the but still with some games from time to time.

Wow that is a huge change in battery life. Looks like you had quite some time on idle, rough estimate?

May consider flashing to Revolution if it's that much....

So am I correct in thinking that the Android OS representation in Battery stats include the 4G LTE? I charged fully Saturday and got 16 hours with 27% remaining. Of those 16 hours I was home on wifi for 12 hours or so and the other 4 I was out of the house on 4G. On Sunday, I turned wifi off altogether and got close to 10 hours before hitting 8% battery remaining. Both days my use was moderate.

Funny thing is the screen usage in battery stats always appears to be about twice the android OS but I think the LTE usage is the real game changer.

I think most of the idle was the overnight section near the end, probably 8ish hours or so.

And flashing to revolution? not 100% sure what your meaning. That was with my first full day of running 2.1.1

VZW is selling the extended battery with cover for $24.99 with free 2 day shipping. Go to their site and find the ext battery, select gnex in the device drop down and add to cart. Might show $49.99 on product page but should be correct in cart. If can't get it to show correctly, there is a whole thread going on over at slickdeals.net, just search for galaxy nexus battery. People are reporting that it will still fit under the stock cover albeit a snug fit, otherwise use the included cover which adds very little bulk to the point where it might still fit in a case, depending on what you have. Just wanted to pass along.

Based on just our two experiences with the battery today, I'd say the screen is by far the biggest sucker of battery. Streaming Pandora with the screen off (over bluetooth) doesn't even come close to draining it as much as just sitting there with the screen on. A couple questions for you Haproot: do you have your screen on auto-brightness? Are you generally using it in dark areas or bright areas where the screen has to be brighter?

Screen is on auto brightness. I'm usually in a fairly well lit area. Over the weekend my house is fairly dark as I have the shades drawn. Doesn't seem to matter. I do not have any brightness tweaks loaded either. I was using one for a day and it destroyed the battery.

Battery problems? What battery problems?

Not a heavy use day, but I was streaming Pandora through much of the time. Yes, just the standard battery that came with the phone.

Is that all WIFI time or is there some 4G mixed in? I can get results like that with WIFI but as soon as 4G kicks in it drops dramatically. When 4G is on I always get decent speeds and haven't experienced any drops but for there is a huge difference in WIFI battery consumption vs 4G. It's almost twice the consumption to use 4g.

I charged mine yesterday during the day and left it on wifi all night. Managed to get 16-17 hours until I had to plug it in with some really heavy texting this morning. I leave the screen brightness on auto which I have to say makes the screen look pretty crappy but the look of the screen is further down on my wants list than battery life is. I'm in a really weak 4g area so most of the time I would leave it on 3g (I rarely use wifi) but I find it inconvenient to go into the settings and change it all the time. Really hoping a 3g/4g toggle widget comes out soon.

mines killing me too. 45 minutes and went from 100% to 73 percent.

Pretty killer. Thought it wasn't normal... did a factory reset and its the same as before. Ordered a second battery with charger ...should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm sure future releases will improve efficiency
