Battery life on CM7. Let's hear it...

I have 2 batteries, and an external charger. Saved my life more than a few times. With CM7 its essential to have another battery, if you can't plug in your phone during the day.

When I travel, I take along one of those external battery chargers that will plug into my phone. Will charge my battery 2-3x. Comes in very handy.

No more poor battery life for me! I just bought a 3500 Ma battery with an external charger off eBay for $23. Should get here between Tuesday and Thursday, just in time for my 4 day trip. I'll report back when I get it...

You'll love it man. Now you'll have much more freedom to use your phone to the max potential!

They had a deal on eBay for 2 3500 mah batteries and a charger for the D2 for $20... I couldn't find anything that cheap for the X, even from the same company... I wonder why that deal was so cheap.

Anyway, I am hoping to be able to get 12+ hours with my normal usage since the battery is more than double the size. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

I am assuming that you need a differnt battery door? If it won't fit into my dock, can't use it.

Yeah, it does.

The Motorola extended battery is alot smaller and uses a small battery door.

I am officially sold on Juice Defender! Thank goodness I finally, now after all this time, have some respectable battery life on my DX with CM7. I've tried everything I could think of to this point; removing apps, task killers, not using my phone very much, you name it. Nothing was working. I would have a full charge at 7am and by 3pm I'd be at 40% left, no way possible to make it through the evening.

I tried Juice Defender free and didn't see any change, but so many people have been raving about it that I decided to bite the bullet and download the ultimate paid version a few days ago. I set it up, charged my phone to 100%, and since then by 5pm I'm still at 60% left. That's with moderate use (a few phone calls, some texts, twitter, and some internet. Pretty much using the phone as I normally would.

If you were THIS close to dropping CM7 as I was because the battery life sucked worse than a 5.00 hooker, try JD Ultimate.

Juice Defender Ultimate is a lifesaver. I have it to turn 3G and wifi off when the screen is and its ridiculous how much you save. I dont even lose any functionality. It checks my social network stuff every hour or so but other than that, i only have data when the screen is on. Amazing stuff.

I seem to be having the exact opposite results with juice defender.

Here is my results with and without JuiceDefender Ultimate.

I was on the extreme settings and customized for the right apps. Was using about 2 hours and 15 minutes of display. Took screen shots when they were both at 15%. Was fairly light on using it the past 2 days. Might just try the custom settings or maybe try liquid gingerbread again.

It does really help when you don't have service tho.

14 hours is amazing though. What nightly are you on?

I'm on nightly 50. It was with light use, but i do have a few apps running in the back ground like beautiful widgets, weather bug, go launcher, and go sms pro, facebook. Send out about 150 200 txts a day, about 1 phone call most days.

I've noticed that the battery will drop down to 70% quick, then it will start taking a while to die.

The quick battery drop is how lithium ion batteries work. They will hover at the nominal voltage, 3.7V for much longer than they spend at higher or lower voltages. You will typically see a quicker drop to 3.7 then it will level off until it hits 3.6v and then begin going down quickly again.

Sent from my brain using human to phone transport technology.
