Bionic build 5.9.901....Initial impressions......and what we know so far

Here's my review of .901:
Living in a 4G fringe area, .886 was pretty good after I replaced my SIM card, but I still got occasional drops where I had to reboot / airplane toggle. I rate the phone at about 75% of data connectivity. Update .893 update made things exponentially worse for me, transitions required me to actually reboot (restart connections or airplane mode didn't restore connection like they did on .886), multiple times a day. I rate the phone at about 40% of data connectivity.
I've noticed a huge difference being on .901 so far. On .901, 3G to 4G transitions happen really quickly and have been flawless. 4G signal seems to be holding much stronger, and I have 4G and 3G connection in areas of the house i didn't before. Still have some dead spots in the house where I get no connectivity (seems like more of a network not a phone issue), but it'll transition from no connection to 3G - 4G quickly as soon as I move to an area of the house that gets signal.
I haven't had to reboot / airplane toggle once since the .901 update! I rate the phone at about 95% data connectivity now. I think the remaining 5% is probably just network issues / certain parts of the house causing poor signal transmission. For me, it's a vast improvement over .893 which was a total failure of an update for people in 4G fringe zones.

Battery life seems better. I do have the extended battery and Juice Defender, but it went down 33% after 13 hours. I have 5 widgets (including Widget Locker), the System app running for history, 4G on and live wallpaper. Not a hard use, but it'll last me though the day without worry. Don't forget; I live in a valley so data is spotty at best, but the battery wasn't draining trying to get a connection.

I appreciate all your replies gentlemen but I sincerely have not been the knowledge of adb , pushing etc... So I guess I'll wait till Verizon actually pushes the update...
I also wish they did something about 4GLTE in my area..
I'm currently on 5.5.893 and I'm better than before. The 4GLTE issue I'm sure it's just my coverage area as we don't even have FIOS yet available here. FML..

I just got my Bionic yesterday afternoon. The 893 upgrade came within a few hours. Hopefully the 901 comes through soon although I havent had any problems so far
901 wont be pushed out yet, it was pushed out last week on accident. It just so happens that it's a very fortunate accident, this can be proven by reading the vast majority of positive reviews on any of the forums.
If you want to upgrade to 901 without waiting you can grab it from the link in the OP.

SAFE to ASSUME , if im good at the OTA 5.5.893 I should just wait till Verizon pushes the actual update to everyone .. as of right now I have a much more stable 3g connection as opposed to before when I barely got either .. the 4glte im not really worried about though im a bit disappointed because many of my friends have it ..its just my coverage area not having it stable yet nothing to do with my phone or anything else ....
if i were very familiar with this whole adb , and command prompt deals of pushing stuff etc , i would try it anyway ..
however after having to use 43v3r root to revert back a few times after screwing up my phone im done .... im stock rooted with the new 5.5.893 and yes I can say I see a massive difference ....

There's rumor of a begining of January push. Take RUMOR for what it's worth. I'm hopeful, though I don't have any issues. I just want the latest and greatest.
So far I am liking 901. Battery on steady 4 g area has improved. Normally down on ext battery 10% after 2 hrs. Now it is only 6%. Also today drove from 4 g to 3 g area. No data drop at all. Right from 4g to 3g instantly. Normally I drop data for a minute or 2.

So now I've been on 901 for almost a week. My thoughts: I miss not having data. Been 4g most of the week. I don't like being able to go out and not watch the battery drop like a stop watch, and I hate that I don't have to reinstall missing apps. This is hands down the best update yet.

Well I think it is safe to say after 35 pages of posts and the numerous other threads on this and other forums that:
Build 5.9.901 is an overwhelming success!!!!! There are a few that have had some problems, but the vast majority agrees that 901 is great!!!!!!
Moto/VZW really need to just go ahead and release the update to everyone.

I like it so much, I'm sticking with stock/rooted 901 until when/if someone builds a custom rom based off of it. I sampled liberty with the 901 update but it's still an 886 camera, of course. I guess it's time to get to work freezing bloat.
