Bionic owners ignore this if you don't care about screen rez/camera/video/benchmarks

4g yep, but we AREN'T talking about Sprint's network.

Dont you think it's kinda hard to seperate the celluar network from a cell phone? Especially with something like 4G LTE which is an absolute game changer in the cell phone world IMO. It's a HUGE feature that the Bionic has over other "Superphones" from other carriers. In fact, it's one of the main selling points of the device.

EDIT: Also, I havent heard very many good reviews about Sprint's Wimax. Even in big cities, the coverage is spotty and the throughput isnt very impressive at all. LTE is blanketing many large cities now and the latency is super low and the througput is filthy.

funny how some people are so quick to jump on what they perceive are shortcomings of one device without mentioning shortcomings of the other.

take both phones into direct sunlight and tell me which screen is better.
one you wont be able to see, the other will be bright and vivid.

true that...

I do spend a lot of time reading and web surfing on the phones, and the pixelations for me outweigh by far, the ability to be able to hold my phones screen in direct sunlight and be able to see...

Sigh... People just aren't getting it. Is it so hard to understand?

Maybe this will make it stand out and make things more clear: THE OP IS TALKING ABOUT GETTING A NEXT GENERATION SAMSUNG PHONE WITH VERIZON WHEN IT IS RELEASED.

So there is no need to bring Sprint's network into the conversation at all.

If you are a true lover of the best in cellular technology and you are within your return period for your bionic, I implore you march it right back to the store. Why? I finally spent some hands on time with the sprint epic 4g touch (mouthful) and it clearly eclipses the biopic in all of the aforementioned areas. If you don't believe me, take your biopic to the store and do a side by side comparison. You'll find that: 1. The Sammy screen is brilliant, lacks the pixellation bugaboo, and just displays a fantastic range and depth of colors. 2. The camera rivals some point and shoot cameras with tons of detail and excellent clarity. The biopic is not even close to being in the same league. 3. The video, while not quite as stunning as the still photos, is still head and shoulders above the DB. 4. Don't compare benchmarks if you don't want to be further disappointed by motos offering. 5. While the DB is by no means an ugly duckling, the way Sammy has packaged that huge 4.5" screen in that ultra-thin (and surprisingly not huge feeling package) is close to amazing. It just feels great in the hand. 6. The dual core in the Sammy is flat out fast and ultra ultra smooth.

So before the hatemail starts rolling in, I just wanted to say that if you only upgraded to the biopic to get a better phone than what you had, or you really don't expect much in the areas I've cataloged, then by all means keep it (after all it's just my opinion right?). But, on the other hand, if you have a little more stamina and can wait to get the absolute best phone experience available, then ship that puppy back to the store and wait for whatever galaxyesque (yes, I just made that up) phone Sammy sends to Verizon. From what I saw at Sprint today, it will be worth the wait. Don't believe me? Dare to compare.

Edit: Dang you TouchPad autocorrect! That's supposed to be, wait for it......Bionic.

Does the Samsung Sprint Galaxy S Fascinate 4G Epic S Touch II have 4G LTE?

No the Sprint Thingamahoochie doesn't, but whatever makes it way to Verizon probably will.

I think people don't like to read much. I completely disagree with the OP, but at least I read it :)

Well said Shadez.

and I did read the OP's post
hence why my first reply was not on a network or anything other than phones.
everyone has their tastes, and not everyone shares them.

Don't be tricked by Samsung's iPhone clone!!! Also, Moto actually puts out updates, and will likely put them out even faster once Google takes over.

If you want Android, stick with MOTO or HTC. If you want iPhone, stick with Apple. The only thing I'll ever by from Samsung is a TV.

My thoughts exactly word for word..

Sorry.. didnt read.

OP makes a point, but who knows when this rumored Sprint super phone will be out? I waited 9 months for the Bionic. I guess I could have waited even longer for whatever Samsung has coming out, but seeing how long the Bionic took, I dont have any confidence that the Sammy device will be out anytime soon. We havent seen any leaks or screenshots and the specs are all just rumor. Even the name of the device is up in the air.

Nothing against people who are waiting, but for me, the Bionic is the end of waiting :)

have fun with your super phone that has no connection F sprint when Motorola fixes this audio problem i will be fine with my bionic.

Here we go again...First, I care about the screen. I think the Biopic's screen is incredible! I haven't seen any of the SGS2s, but I think the Biopic's screen is head and shoulder's above the Charge's. So leaving the Biopic for a Sammy doesn't make sense to me. The colors on the Biopic look more realistic to me and I can actually see it in the sunlight, and I don't see any of the pixelation people complain about. The Charge gave me a headache when I looked at it. It didn't even seem to use real colors.

I've taken a few pics, and the camera takes a little getting used to, but it takes really good pictures. The first picture I took looked like garbage, but now that I know how to use it and focus it correctly, it looks great.

Don't care about videos. I've had phones capable of taking video for about 4 years, and I've taken exactly zero videos.

And Benchmarks....oh benchmarks...what can we say about benchmarks. They're useless. I think that about sums up benchmarks. For one, they are more a reflection of the benchmarking software than the hardware they are run on. For two, because of the way the Android OS works, there has never been an even remotely accurate benchmarking software for Android. Thirdly, benchmarks are incredibly easy to manipulate. I've seen where someone has a benchmark score, they go in and tweak some settings, rerun the benchmark and have an increase of about 90% on the score. The only thing benchmarks are good for is to give people who don't understand them bragging rights over other people who don't understand them.
So yeah, I'll keep my Biopic. Now I'm gonna go watch the History Channel. They are showing a JFK Bionic.

Good one on the History channel. You are another for whom the Bionic is perfect (autocorrect almost got me again). You did just make me realize something though, I also thought the Charge screen colors were a little garrish for lack of a better term. I was still ready to trade the oversaturation for a more crisp view. The funny thing is that I didn't notice the same look on the epic, which makes me wonder if they have tweaked the native settings somehow. Ignoring the benchmark numbers, I am impressed by how the Sammy completes the benchmarks faster than the bionic. I like how the Sammy snaps from portrait to landscape faster and how the pinch to zoom is smoother. I realize that's not important to all, just personal preferences.

If you think the Sammy will better fit your needs, then by all means you should get it and I hope it serves you well. Just try not to fall into the trap of "the next phone will be better" because by the time the Sammy comes out...well I'm sure you know the drill. And I think telling other people they should return their Bionic and wait for the Sammy kind of puts people off.

The Bionic is a great phone, it is just not the King. I don't try to keep up with the best clothes, cars, or most expensive vacations, but I must have the best phone (within a reasonable waiting time). To give more perspective, a Corvette is a great car, but if I knew I could wait a little longer and get a Ferrari for the same price, it would be a done deal. I don't have the best of anything (except wife), but I do know how to evaluate a lot of things and phones are one of them, and the phone I saw today is just that good.
Looks like the Mrs. might be reading the forum? :) I picked up the Bionic the other day since at this point it is the best phone on Verizon. My original Droid just was not cutting it any more, and I know there are going to be other phones coming, but at the same time I have not seen enough Concrete dates that tells me when they are going to drop. I know I have 14 days to return my bionic, but most likely will not. The Bionic has been a great update to my Oringal Droid. I think since I did not pay attention to anything until after I was elgible for an upgrade that I am more then happy with the bionic and not upset that it should have been out months ago.
