Bionic owners ignore this if you don't care about screen rez/camera/video/benchmarks

Go tap on the epic for a few minutes and then try to imagine a phone with even better specs (Prime).

Quad Core 2.3GHz ARM A12 based CPU
Mobile Graphics chip from AMD
2GB of DDR3
1GB of dedicated video RAM
4.65" 720p NOVA Infinity Display
3.2MP FFC
12MP 1080p video with Xenon Flash
32GB of internal memory
LTE Advance Support

To top it all off...

A add on projector! Just like the LG Expo.

Estimated release date: Q3 2012

I think I'll return my Bionic and wait for this amazing phone...

Please tell what program the new Samsung will run, that the Bionic won't.

It will have a faster cpu, sure. It will have a better screen, sure. The front camera may be better but what videochatting application uses more than VGA?

To me that suggests that it will launch my apps a quarter of a second faster. I never look at photos on the screen so while flawed the pentile is sufficient.

Will samsung or htc make reliable phones that will be updated? And is the improvement over the Bionic big enough to warrant 6 weeks of OG droid torture?

Please answer and convince me to give it back by Friday.

doesn't sound good enough, I personally waiting around for the
deca-core 6.0 ghz, multidimensional, arm z15 cpu
ram is outdated as it uses your prefrontal cortex,
no screen it simple taps into your occipital lobe,
Phone calls are made before you even know you want to make them
Photos are stored in your temporal lobe, video as well
again app memory is built into your prefrontal cortex
Advanced 4G and 5G support using your cerebellum

and to top it all off

you get a built in nfc to share all these with your friends PLUS an ocular implant which can double as a 3D holo-projector

estimated release date: The not to distant future

I think I'm just going to hold my breathe and keep the bionic.

Wow only another year wait lol..... Idk why ppl make threads in the bionic section suggesting other phones... everyone sees what's coming out and we can go to those forums ourselves... the bionic section shouldnt be flooded w comparisons with phones that don't exist yet..... it only means that the bionic is the best phone out... if ur not happy w the bionic send it back and get something else or wait..... neither of which need to be broadcasted... we all have our needs and expectations which the bionic did or didn't meet... at the end of the day its a cell phone and no one cares if you have the "best" phone

If you are a true lover of the best in cellular technology and you are within your return period for your bionic, I implore you march it right back to the store. Why? I finally spent some hands on time with the sprint epic 4g touch (mouthful) and it clearly eclipses the biopic in all of the aforementioned areas. If you don't believe me, take your biopic to the store and do a side by side comparison. You'll find that: 1. The Sammy screen is brilliant, lacks the pixellation bugaboo, and just displays a fantastic range and depth of colors. 2. The camera rivals some point and shoot cameras with tons of detail and excellent clarity. The biopic is not even close to being in the same league. 3. The video, while not quite as stunning as the still photos, is still head and shoulders above the DB. 4. Don't compare benchmarks if you don't want to be further disappointed by motos offering. 5. While the DB is by no means an ugly duckling, the way Sammy has packaged that huge 4.5" screen in that ultra-thin (and surprisingly not huge feeling package) is close to amazing. It just feels great in the hand. 6. The dual core in the Sammy is flat out fast and ultra ultra smooth.

So before the hatemail starts rolling in, I just wanted to say that if you only upgraded to the biopic to get a better phone than what you had, or you really don't expect much in the areas I've cataloged, then by all means keep it (after all it's just my opinion right?). But, on the other hand, if you have a little more stamina and can wait to get the absolute best phone experience available, then ship that puppy back to the store and wait for whatever galaxyesque (yes, I just made that up) phone Sammy sends to Verizon. From what I saw at Sprint today, it will be worth the wait. Don't believe me? Dare to compare.

Edit: Dang you TouchPad autocorrect! That's supposed to be, wait for it......Bionic.

The Sprint network is a joke, any phone on it will be crippled because it's slow, spotty and unreliable. There is no denying this and this fact completely invalidates your post.

Went to Sprint a few days ago to test the sg2 with cash in hand prepared to leave Verizon (I know, dumb move). Anyway, I was not impressed at all....the phone was no quicker and what the camera made up for was lost by how out of proportion the screen looked due to low resolution. It reminded me of a widescreen monitor in "safe mode". Like I said, the camera was better hands down, but that was it for me. I have never had an issue with pixels on my phone and brightness looked to me to be favorable for the Bionic. To each their own I suppose, just another man's opinion.

OK Ive said this before so I will say it again Tomorrow NEVER COMES, when waiting for the next best thing. If you hate moto bye all means wait.
If you love sammy, then wait... If not get moto It is a good solid phone. does what it says it will ..it is at this time the best phone offered by Verizon .
But tommorrow there will be a better one.

I would jump to Sprint from Verizon in a second!
The only thing keeping me away is the termination fee.

Sprint= Better phones and prices.

I cant wait until those other phones come out. That way, everyone WITHOUT a Bionic will run off and leave us alone to talk about the phone we like! At that point the threads should be down to issues, themes, development, roms etc. Doesnt that sound great?! lol

Keep your eyes on the news section for some very interesting news - will be available shortly!

Entertaining thread...lol

funny how some people are so quick to jump on what they perceive are shortcomings of one device without mentioning shortcomings of the other.

take both phones into direct sunlight and tell me which screen is better.
one you wont be able to see, the other will be bright and vivid.

true that...

I do spend a lot of time reading and web surfing on the phones, and the pixelations for me outweigh by far, the ability to be able to hold my phones screen in direct sunlight and be able to see...

Perfect example of picking the cons you can live with. Me, I use public transportation alot since I live so close to my job. So for me viewing the Bionic's screen outside would be a big pro for me.

I thought about that the other day when there was a comparison clip of the 2. I didnt know how to put it, but this could describe it best. The guy in the clip even mentioned on the Epic Touch you could see jagged edges on circles, curves. Now I wonder how many ppl will even notice that...lol. Every phone has pros n cons, every screen, etc.

At the end of the day these phones all do the same damn thing.

Agree 100%. Some phones do some things better than others. Thats fine, cuz every phone has pros n cons. I could see if we were comparing the Droid 1, Eris, G1 to the GS2...lol. Sometimes it seems like some ppl put the Bionic in the category of those phones I just mentioned..lol Yea the GS2 is the benchmark king, good for Samsung. The GS1 and 2 have been great in the multi media dept, good for Samsung again. But I am reminded that:

At the end of the day these phones all do the same damn thing.

The GS2 just does some things better than the Bionic. And some things the Bionic does better than the GS2. I am never one wanting the best anything, I just want what I want based on my wants, needs. And the Bionic is a great phone for ppl that want it.

I wish one of the sub-forum areas was titled "Don't buy this phone now cause there may be a better one coming someday soon, maybe" so I could move this thread, and the dozens of others, there.

I bought my BIONIC because my OG Droid was breathing its last gasps and I needed a new phone. If there's a better phone that Verizon offers today, RIGHT NOW, I'll consider it. Otherwise I'm sticking with my BIONIC, which I am VERY happy with, BTW.
