Dang I should have read the last posts first. I just got so exited for the future of my D2.
I feel like I just lost a family pet :(

"@FreeMyMoto: We're personally working to confirm that what we're all up in arms about is what we want it to be. What we hear is good, but unconfirmed."

I'm thinking it's legit, or Motorola wouldn't be throwing around legal threats.

Did anyone actually see the legal threats from moto? I havent really looked on his twitter to see.

I was late to start creeping through all of this, but I havn't saw anything myself.

Still not verified so I wouldn't get too excited... Koush and Birdman have already said its fake. Aliasxerog is waiting for a dx to come in to test it so we should know relatively soon whether its legit or not.

I doubt they're gonna release a whole thing to unlock it to the public and there's legal threats about this so I agree don't get too excited I haven't heard of fake but I haven't checked my twitter in awhile

Did someone actually see said legal response though? Its easy to say you received it but not give any proof.

im trying to figure out why motorola is on top of this now if they have been warned before about the keystore vulnerablility. I really dont see why it makes much of a difference if a few people decide to create roms that modify the phones to make them run better than motorola can.
and +1 on seeing the legal response from motorola

If someone makes, say a dx cyanogen rom then I'm sure it would be ported to the d2g(hopefully!)

CVPCS has already been working on this - hence why he joined the CM team some time ago. :)

I hear (directly from the person who did it that I consider trustable) that the keys have independently been recreated via @nenolod's published methods.

I also hear (directly and indirectly) that pretty much every name that we all like to hear make announcements are already jumping on this. While FreeMyMoto is getting a lot of "credit" for everything that's going on (beyond the initial discovery), a LOT of people are working on this. This is by no means exclusive to our small team.

Until somebody publicly comes out and says that this has been completely proven, though, it's still just a theory at this point.

The keys posted earlier are only signatures and not the full keys. The full keys need to be independently created, which as I previously stated, has already been done. So saving those keys doesn't really do much for you at this point.
