Cm 5.0.6.2

Ok...n00b question that I couldn't find an answer to: I have SPRecovery, Busybox, all on the rooted 2.1 OTA...can I use CM?

This is very odd, try changing ur notification tone to the default droid.

When I did that it would lock up and reboot and soon as "droid" would start. It's weird because it would do it even with a silent notification. It's not doing it with UD9.8. I'll try a fresh download and install tonight.

Yep I am, smoked glass-esque from Rom manager. Would this be a possible cause?

SGE1.4.2 should not have any adverse effects.

Actually did some testing on IRC with some people this weekend. THose running stock CM had no issues with mms videos or pics. But, those with SGE had the video issues. So, looks like something in the theme is breaking mms video. One tester even went from SGE to stock and back to test and only had the issue when using the SGE theme.

Not sure if any other themes cause the problem, but running stock CM didn't have the problem.

Okay, I too was having troubles receiving pics in messages while running Smoked Glass 1.5.1. I have found the fix. Go back to Smoked Glass 1.5 and it works beautifully. I receive pictures now no problem.

Hope that helps.

You sure can. Easiest thing to do is download ROM Manager from the market. To use it you'll need to flash another recovery called Clockwork. Backup your apps using MyBackupPro or Titanium Backup before installing, and then select the latest CyanogenMod (5.0.6.2) and wipe data+cache before installing. You should also select "backup current ROM" as well (does a nandroid backup), in case things go haywire.

If you want to run an OC kernel, also grab SetCPU from the market, otherwise you can just run the stock kernel that comes with CM (550 MHz).

Happened to me today. I had to revert to my original 5.0.6.2 installation :p

So I reverted back to the stock install OF 5.0.6.2 and it still would reboot when plugged into the computer. I went back to UD9.8 and it works fine. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be great. I'd really like to try out CM but can't have it jacking up my phone lol.

Post here for real time support from Koush and the guys at Cyano

Thanks FSRBIKER. I did a fresh install last night and it works great. I loaded the Ice Theme and P3Droids 1.0GHZ kernel and it's running great now. I'm going to try it out for awhile and see how it goes. It so easy to update everything with ROM manager that it's ridiculous.

Thanks pdroid. I got the zip file but couldn't any infofind how to apply the patch. Let me know if you that info

Yeah, I couldn't figure out how to get it working either, lol

The zip file I used, I just put it on the sd card. Used option to install ROM from sd card in Rom manager. Then choose the youtube.zip. It worked for me. :)

Okay seems like since cyanogen 5.0.5.6?? maybe that pandora will not work if you run it and try to do something else. If its running and i click sms,or browser or an app it freezes and i have to hit quit in pandora 2 times and start it over. sooooo frustrating. Is there a fix for this? I know im not the only one experiencing this. Slacker radio does the same thing. running 5.0.6.2 bekit 1ghz kernal hex fusion theme.

did you try without the theme? Themes breaks lot of things IMO.

Example what would the script be to remove corporate calendar? I looked in rom removal thread

I don't think any such scripts come with stock CM.

You could

a.) make your own
b.) import a script from elsewhere and run it
c.) remove unwanted apps using Root Explorer (paid app in Market).

Or are you asking how to write the script to remove apps?
