Cm 5.0.6.2

I am kinda new to this using custom rom thing. With some help from a friend, I got up to cm 5.0.6.2 and oc'd using the 2.6.29 bekit 5x1000sv kernel (and it seems i have the nextheme?) . Everything seems fine, except backing out of app seem rather laggy. Sometimes, it would be responsive, and i would back out to home screen with a smooth fade away animation. Other times, I will have to wait a few seconds before the screen "stumbles" back out to the home screen. I already checked off the option of keeping launcher in memory (Is the launcher just the pop out menu? that is always smooth for whatever reason, but back to the home screen is not), I disabled compcache, and i'm not compacting the launcher menu. I am using set cpu from between 250mhz to 1000mhz. Could that be causing the problem? Though my friend who is using the same setup except with set cpu between 400-1000 doesn't seem to have any different result.

also, is anyone else running into freeze problem with google earth? It has never happened before. Sometimes when I scroll around in google earth, the screen will just freeze and stop responding to any gesture. the program/phone is not frozen, however, and if i just tap into any of the menu tab (tos, setting, etc) and come back, it will work again. It's just rather annoying, and i'm wondering whether i've got a corrupted file or something.

Run in performance mode for setcpu, ondemand will place you at 550 constant for some reason. turn compcache and launcher in memory on. (launcher is homescreen+app drawer), leave compact launcher off. in spare parts turn window animations/transitions both to very fast or fast. That should speed you up.

i mean, that does speed things up, but wouldn't the phone get hot with the phone constantly locked at max cpu, not to mention the battery life would die rather quickly?

70% after six hours unplugged, heavy texting, and 1.0-1.2ghz performance mode. 21-24*C cpu.

wow thats great. Never did texting. My battery suckz with browsing over wifi. what was your setcpu settings? I mean all the different profiles.

Texting isn't that demanding as browsing I think. what was battery temp?

Battery@23*C
Profiles:
Standard and Charging are both 1.0-1.2ghz performance
Sleep/Standby 250-550mhz ondemand
Failsafe: Battery>50*C 250-250mhz

Mine is Ondemand and that was most suggested by all. Performance always maxes out top OC speed which in turn burns more battery with higher battery temps. I am running p3droid 1Ghz kernel. Can you provide advanced settings also? I will try your settings with bekit kernel and see how it goes

Also did anyone else noticed that the haptic feedback on the new mod seems to be a lot stronger than the stock? Is there anyway to change it so that it only gives me a weak jolt when I return to home screen, instead of a full strength vibrate?

droiddadi it really seesm certain themes IMO affects battery life and the ability to run certain profiles. Currently I am running Jairomeo's Lemon Ice theme on the current Cyano with a p3 .9LV kernel and my phone flies, running JRummy's which is a great theme also made my phone a bit slower but also was eating my battery faster.
My SetCPU settings: All on demand
900/250
Charging 500/250
Sleep 500/250
Failsafe 45.3C 500/250
I also have several Power Profiles to conserve powere when it gets low. I typically run below 100F all day unless I am multitasking with things like surfing, maps, phone or downloading lots of files.

Thanks FSRBIKER. I have similar profiles but still can't get same battery life that I got from stock kernel.

With stock by the time I come back back home work 40 to 50% battery is left. With Jrumys it is dead by 3 PM. Went back to vanilla CM with bekit 1.2 GhZ kernel. Will see how it goes today.

I loaded CM 5.0.6.2 last night and it's running great so far. I am having one problem, when I connect the USB cable to my phone it automatically reboots itself. Having never run CM before and coming from UD9.8, is this supposed to happen and if not how to fix it? Thanks.

this is not an issue with CM that I am aware of.. please let me knwo what u were doing/running at the time of the reboot and tell me if you are running a them.. most likely it is related to a theme not done properly

There used to be an issue with SD card sound notifications. Are notifications enabled for you? Try disabling and see if that does it.

ok it could be the theme. I loaded the Licorice Flavored Ice theme from Jairomeo through ROM Manager and a bekit 7 slot 1GHz kernel.

I turned off the SD card notifications and it still did it. It will stay on once it reboots and will allow me to mount the card to access it. It's just a bit annoying to have it reboot first. It doesn't do it when wall charging or car charging...just connecting to the computer.

Where you running Music, or on the phone.. or anythign of that nature when you plugged in.. can you please let me know and I will help track cause.. also, I would let the themer know that this issue is there.. and tell them I said that they should check to make sure their .xml files are up to date.. this is a known issue if the theme dev does not update and check his files properly.
