CM6 final is here!

I believe the only downside to CyanogenMod is that the theming community is very spread out. There is not really a single repository for themes and most of the CM community is generally happy with the stock theme.

Luckily DarkEdge never leaves out CM in it's releases so I have that to look forward to.

Really this is hardly a downside at all to the ROM in general. Just coming from a perspective from a theme-appreciator; CM could really use a source from which to enjoy all themes created for CM.

I actually am waiting for someone to theme CM6 cuz am def a Theme guy..Since trying "Golden Elegance"(UD7.0) and Liquid's BFY theme for LFY1.5, I cannot seem to go stock regardless how great the Rom performs. Hopefully CM 6 gets themes quickly..Hint Kook, Luna,..Whoever else is out there that got me "Theme Crazed":)

Don't get me wrong... I am not saying Cm6 doesn't have any themes. CM6 does have many theme contributors from many forums, sites, apps, chat channels, etc... My gripe is that there seems to be no single theme repository for all these themes. (ie, you have to go searching for them or know where to look).

Golden Elegance is already available, as well as Black glass and Evo.

I just noticed today that when i take pictures it comes out as a black screen... anyone else having this issue?... i always wipe three times before flashing any rom.. i also tried fix permission but with no sucess...

Hopefully helpful info to others on batt life

I found my home for some time now
I can agree with this statement. :)

Thanks! I am trying to find a rom that will let my battery last all day.
Same here bro. The most I've gotten out of one charge(on another setup) was 13 hours but I RARELY touched my phone any. Now with low-moderate usage, I can get about 8 hrs. Still looking for that 12+ range though. And I may have just found it. Still testing.

To fix my poor battery life i wiped the phone 3 times reformated the phone in nandroid restarted battery stats now im getting 12+ hours of pretty mediumish heavy useage of internet twitter facebook texting...i did not talk on the phone during those 12 hours BTW

Im gonna give this a shot now andrew149. Im on CM6 Final and I can squeeze 5-8 hrs outta my phone on any given day with heavy texting and little web browsing. But im looking for a 12 hr+ range with medium to heavy usage myself. Will report back in a day or so... :)

*edit: Sorry to be a noob but how would I go about "reformatting the phone in nandroid" or is that the same as 'wipe data/factory reset' and 'wipe cahce partition'??

tell me how that works out for you i spent 2 days trying to fix it and all i need was a really good whip haha
Alright andrew149, I took your advice: I rebooted into Recovery, wiped data/factory reset(5x), wiped cache(5x), reinstalled CM6 Final and booted up! using the stock kernel, my phone was amazingly fast but I had it clocked at 600mhz(different batt profiles of course) and my batt life was doing great. I couldn't get a clear reading bc I had data(3G and sync) disconnected the entire night so tomorrow Im gonna test a little more but I can say within 4-5 hrs, I had only dropped 10-20%, which is good. I also switched kernels during midday to JDLFG's 800mhz and it was about the same as stock, if not BETTER! So all in all, roughly estimating, my phone had a full charge around 5:30pm and with no data/connectivity(until about 10'ish pm), mostly texting, and little web, one phone call(lolz) Im sitting at 30% right now and its 2:48am(my time). So thx for the advice!

To everyone else, my personal recommendations to equate better battery life are:
1) wipe multiple times(one dev said this was a "noob-move" but its solely up to you)
B) be sure you locate a good kernel for what you need. Don't get all excited about overclocking your phone bc I ran the stock 800 and its the best kernel I've ever used. Im on JDLFG's SV 800 and its JUST THE SAME!!
3) THIS IS IMPORTANT!! I read this on a few threads elsewhere but please, after every flash/rom change, LET YOUR BATTERY DIE til your phone turns itself off then fully recharge it not touching it and then run your checks that way. AKA, "retraining" your battery! This is important and could be that missing link/step you need.

Again, thx andrew149!! dancedroid

I have just finished the complete Luna Theme for CM6 final and will be posting it on my website shortly. I am running it now and must say it looks great. Only issue is that the CMWallpapers APK file in the system is 7mb and therefore wont allow me to install the full theme... So rather than releasing a half-ass theme I will be asking that you remove the CMWallpapers APK from yuor system before installing. Its worth it. You can always pull the APK.

Stay tuned or sign up at Luna.AnthemOfTheSun.com - Thank you!

No prob ive been messing with these phones and trying new tricks all the time im in shock how well wiping more than once actualy works WOW i got 18hours of battery life yestery i was in shock most ive ever gotten was 12-15 hours so i am a happy camper now

My phone random reboots on CM6 final while listening to music, or podcasts on doggcatcher, or surfing a long time. Basically anything taxing for more than 10 minutes. Temps are low, stock kernel, wiped before install, and no theme installed.

Gonna try P3droids kernels because they have always worked so well for me. I haven't had these reboot issues since 2.1 on chevy.

I'm not quite sure if I did anything or if it just started happeneing but my gmail is no longer syncing consistently. My mailbox always says I have 1 or more unread messages but in the mailbox there is nothing that is unread. When I log into the account online there are numerous messages that are unread. I delete/read them & then the count on my phone clears out. It seemed to start happening after using Black Glass but I restored back & it is still doing it. Is this a new Google App thing or did I screw it up someplace?

Did you install the app pack as well as the ROM? I'm guessing so, but just making sure. Might not be a bad idea to reinstall it if you did, see if it solves the issue.

Yeah I did. It always worked & just recently (and randomly) stopped. I just hate installing the new Gapps because of the version of Gvoice it comes with. I just installed the latest nightly & downloaded the gapps package again. I'll just have to wait until I get a few e-mails to test it.

Can always replace the app. I had to do it to get the Voice Dialer working again. It was broken in the final build but working in RC-3 -- at least with Bluetooth.

Go into Applications, find Gmail, then clear data.
