CyanogenMod 5.0.6.1

dmacelo - yah I've been through that guide, thx. I did it with RM, not by that guide though, so I'm wondering now how do I take advantage of it now.

MWhartman - I also thought the same, I was gonna make a thread for it actually.

I'm in the themes section now so I'll wait until you start and post no reason for duplicate threads.

I don't think you can unless you manually resize/create partion that its looking for.

I don't think you need to use the RM version to format and to use apps2sd though, so if you followed the DS directions I think apps2sd would still work and allow the swap.

no, I realize its one or the other... and yes that guide will work. I just chose to do the ROM manager method, but it should partition the sd card for you, that's not a manual operation. It did for the apps2sd partition which is working fine. Something's just not pointing in the right place to utilize the swap partition is all, I'm 90% sure of it.

So I guess my question is:

1: For those who have partitioned a swap partition using the Rom Manager method, do you have this directory and what size is it? /dev/block/mmcblk0p3

^^that's the directory that droidswap looks at for a swap partition

thats just it, the DS creates 2 partitions, 1 for swap (/dev/block/mmcblk0p3) and 1 for apps2sd.
RM creates 1 partition for apps2sd. the RM operation is not built to create a swap partition.

then why when it formats, does it ask you what size swap partition you want to use? I chose 64MB for a Swap, and I believe 256 or 512 for Apps2SD...

A bit misleading if that's the case. :-/

Yeah, it definitely did... maybe wasn't available when you tried it, dunno. But I definitely had the option to do Swap and picked 64MB... that's why I'm so lost, can't find the partition! lol

So for anyone who did it with RML In your SD-Ext folder, do you have Dalvik-Cache folder? that's the only thing I see making sense for the swap partition.

I have that folder, looking at sd settings my sd card and secondary do add up to total (as far as I can tell) size so I don't know then.
guess I was way off, sorry.
bunch of .dex files in that folder.

My experience with this ROM has been absolutely terrible. I hate it. Between worse battery life, Aldiko not working right, and general slowness I think I'm going to move along to something else. Good luck to you guys.
