CyanogenMod 5.0.6

i pressed the clear button in my notifications pulldown and it made the notification go away.

This is only temporary though. It will come back when you reboot, and at midnight according to the previous note.

lol you must have posted while i was editing :)

as far as completely disabling ota from rm...i don't think that is possible but i could be wrong. besides, wouldn't that kind of defeat one of the neat features of the rm app.

I don't want to disable OTA. I just wish there was a way to tell it that you weren't interested in that particular update.

I'm lucky enough to have 2 Droids to play with. I have my company phone, which is a Droid and I keep Cyanogen Mod on it, because it's reliable and doesn't require wipes all the dang time. I have a second Droid for my personal life, and boy..... that Droid gets abused like a rag doll. Just this week along, i've flashed back and forth between atleast 6-8 different ROMs on it. I'll never get a steady ROM on that phone i swear

cant wipe system threw rom manager can you??!

Don't think so. My problem is I already wiped data and cache but for some reason the UD wallpapers are still on my phone. So I want to start fresh.

If you have your custom wallpaper on your SD card, and you backup your info to your gmail account when you re-flash, then when you sign back into your gmail account and sync, it will revert to your last wallpaper, so long as it is on your SD card.

I think...

can someone tell me how to change my launcher? it says to go into settings and manage apps and stuff like that but there is no launcher app...or is that where helix launcher comes in? _-_

I'll try and help you real quick before I go pass out from reading 300 some odd posts..lol...once in manage applications, push menu>filter>all...now scroll to the one you have set as default and clear defaults...

DAMN IT!!!! See this is why I don't EVER go Outside!!! I Take my kids Bowling, come home watch the hurt Locker....after the Movie I say ,,,eh ..I'll just do one quick refresh and see what's up......F'n BD's gone:icon_ banana:......not only has 5.0.6 been released...F'n 5.0.6.1...That's it!!!!! I'm here all night folks....Let me guess Koush Rooted the Incredible too!!!

LOL. I felt like my kids in Walmart wanting to go get a toy...once I saw it released in ROM Manager....I felt as if I were running straight to the toy isle!!!!

Weird! SetCPU removed

Not big deal....but I was looking at SetCPU...saw the download notice, installed this patch......and after booting SetCPU was uninstalled. I just re-installed but thought I'd mention it.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that what you noticed is the purpose of the 5.0.6.1 "patch". SetCPU was accidentally included in 5.0.6, and since it is a paid app it obviously should not have been there. So, I'd wager that Koush did a quick "patch" to rectify that error.

The patch came out too quickly for there to have been any other real changes, or at least that's what I believe.

-edit
Apparently, there is also a WiFi fix if you're using the stock kernel (the one bundled with 5.0.6).

Okay...I feel really dumb but I'm going to ask anyway. I've been looking over the threads in this section but I don't see anywhere to actually download the ROMs. Where do I get the ROMs to install? Also, are there instructions somewhere on how to install these ROMs? Is it an update.zip or a nandroid backup?

Thanks

You get the download from ROM Manager app. You can find it free (limited access) and paid version. Try free first to make sure you like the ROM ( pretty sure you will).

Ohhhhhh, so there is no place to just download it. Got ya. I've tried the free version of Rom Manager but it doesn't let me download Roms without purchasing it. Any way I can get one of these Roms to play with before I make the dive and purchase Rom Manager?
