CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2 Global [Beta]

I flashed the 8/5 nightly this morning on an SBF. I can't believe how great it is to be back on Cyanogen Mod! No issues to report, but I don't use bluetooth or GSM.

The camera works great! Does everyone know its working? Have seen that publicized much.

There's a rootzwiki dev thread, do a quick search.
If a nightly doesn't work for you, try a different one. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Wait a sec... I just realized I no longer have Swype... no! Is there a good apk around someplace?

Awesome. I signed up for the swype beta once when it was closed and they said they would notify me. I never heard from them so I figured it was still close. Thanks very much!

To anyone holding out, if you can do without bluetooth I highly recommend making the jump; the only reason I waited is that I use my camera all day taking photos of my 17 month old son. Its so great to be back on Cyanogen mod!

So what was fixed in the newest builds from 8/4 and 8/5? My Wi-Fi is still broken in the 8/2 nightly but I don't have any issues otherwise... actually, I couldn't be happier otherwise. I think I'm going to stick with this build unless something else rather major in terms of bugs was fixed.

Wifi is working just fine for me on the 8/5 nightly. I can toggle it or move out of range of my router and it automatically switches to 3g; I can also automatically switch between wireless networks depending on my location. No wifi issues for me...

I wish I had that kind of luck. I have steadily kept up with the latest build. sometimes just wiping cache before flashing but I have SBF'd about 5 times also since I started flashing cm7. I sbf'd before 8/3 build but only wiped cache before flashing 8/5. My phone seems to get hotter than it used to while using it, wifi still giving me issues as far as having to reboot when switching between wifi/3g.

Battery is better than it has been but not the best it has been either. I don't remember what build it was or what I did differently but at some point I was only losing like 4% overnight without use. Now I am losing about 15-20% overnight without use. That is better than the 40% drain I was getting at even another point in time. if I pretty much don't use my phone I've seen 20+ hours out of a charge, but if I am doing anything at all I can watch my battery level drop percent by percent fairly quickly. If I am actively doing stuff like gaming, messaging, browsing market, etc... every time I check my battery it's dropped between 3 and 5% without much time passing at all.
I love the ROM and all of the customization options but I look forward to the time when everything works perfectly and battery life is a little better for me.

Quick question, if I start fresh on cm7, download apps from market and then use titanium backup to backup those apps and data at some point, it's ok to restore them on a later build of cm7 without problems, yeah?

Another bug that is driving me nuts is the phone will not push an MMS out with wifi on.. Never had this problem with previous Roms and when I am home I am always on WiFi and can't send pictures.

I actually had that same issue with Fission, but I rarely sent MMS so I would just turn my data on.

Gonna see how the 8/5 nightly treats me after wiping cache/dalvik and if I have issues I'll go back to 8/2.

My cousin has cyanogen mod on his fascinate, it made his a 4g phone with 6 to 8 MB download speed in 4g areas. Will this be the same fir my D2G?
