CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2 Global [Beta]

Reboot in recovery and try fixing permissions to see if that would help..

Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk

Is this ROM stable and the bugs fixed yet? I'm currently on HeXen but would love to try cyanogenmod 7

if its not Boeing, I'm not going!!! TEAM BOEING SOUTH CAROLINA ROCKS!!!!!!

Pardon the stupid question... but I've seen the phrase "fixing permissions" get thrown around a lot and for the life of me I still don't know exactly what you guys are talking about, or how to do it.

Anyone care to explain? I'm just curious especially if I feel the need to do it myself if I encounter an issue...

Bugs:
bluetooth is broken
FC when switching to Global Mode (GSM) (change takes effect on reboot however)
alt-lock doesn't work on keyboard (press alt twice to act like alt lock)
stock live wallpapers don't work (market live walls do)

An android phone is like a computer in that aspect, have you ever tried to move a file on your computer and when u did it told you that your permissions were incorrect, doing the same on an administrator account would go flawlessly. That file has certain permissions set there are three sets of numbers, that tell the device who may do what to this specific file, setting this number to 777 would mean that this file can be modified completely. A number like 555 would let you only read the file. So often when the file does not have the correct permissions the android operating system can not access it as it must the permissions may be set to read only when the system must read and write the file to function. This would cause errors. So there is an option in cwr that would allow you to fix permissions on all files(apk applications I think not to sure about this) this goes through and sets the correct permissions on the files.

Hope that made sense.

Reboot to BUILT IN clockwork recovery, go under advanced, hit fix permissions.

Thank you and thank you! And to be clear, built in Clockwork Recovery isn't stock, just the recovery mode I always go to when I choose Recovery in reboot when I hold my power button, correct? I feel like I'm asking an even more ludicrously obvious question because stock recovery isn't Clockwork (as far as I know) but it doesn't hurt to ask I suppose.

stock recovery is the one that you get to by holding down the x button when you power up the phone. its the one that you use to wipe data after an sbf for instance. Clockwerk recovery is either the droid 2 bootstrap app or the clockwerk mod that gets installed when you flash cyanogen.

For future reference, don't install D2 bootstrapper. Clockwork recovery is built in. Hold power, click reboot, click recovery.

Now, I did use D2 bootstrapper once on cm by accident, but luckily, only for rebooting to recovery. If you hit bootstrap, you just screwed 2nd init.

I understand both of these things, but the statement made was "BUILT IN clockwork recovery" which left it ambiguous to me. I'm assuming he only meant just CWM via the normal method of rebooting directly into CWM by holding the power button etc.... Correct?

Please fix Bluetooth and CDMA/GSM switching on the fly.
CyanogenMod is the best ROM, I don't like stock (slow and buggy) and Hexen (buggy).

I'm with you, I wish they would fix the bluetooth. That's about the only reason that is keeping me from installing cm 7.

Get us a copy of GB for d2g from Moto or finish libaudio.so for Cvpcs then we can.

As for hexen, whats buggy about it?
