i was able to revert back to cm7.1 from 621 by getting into bootstrap recovery and restoring. it worked fine. then i tried cm9 ... after the random restart and getting stuck at the M logo, i couldn't get into bootstrap again, so i tried to do the sbf.

maybe when i get the new phone i won't even bother with rooting, i'll just run 621 on it.

That's the part I don't understand... How'd you get into clockwork recovery if you were not rooted?

Maybe he used Voodoo root keeper successfully?

i have always been rooted. 602 was my starting point, rooted it using the oneclick method ....

after finding out that 621 is not backwards compatible, i found it odd that i was able to revert back to a cm7.1 backup i created in bootstrap.

not sure exactly which rom was to blame for sticking my phone @ the M logo, i suspect it was cm9, but can't be sure.

is there an sbf yet for 621 ? if so that will fix my device, so that i don't need to take the refurb that verizon is sending me. or maybe i'll get lucky and they'll send me an X2 as the replacement.

i've been browsing thru phones on verizon's site, am i the only one that thinks the full retail price of these smartphones is ridiculous ?

seriously, just add $ 100 to the cost of the cheapest smartphone and u can get urself a decent laptop ... !

nTelos MMS settings?

I'm having issues with getting MMS working. I'm on nTelos. I tried to modify the APN file in system to no avail. Everything else (besides the obvious) works fine, data, sms, and calls. Is there anything i can do? I have the settings, that's not an issue. I just need to know if there is anything I can do to get it working correctly? Thanks in advance!

My install went perfectly, thanks for the hard work. Is there any way to overclock this rom? I have tried set cpu and android overclock both with no success any help would be appreciated.

i've been browsing thru phones on verizon's site, am i the only one that thinks the full retail price of these smartphones is ridiculous ?

seriously, just add $ 100 to the cost of the cheapest smartphone and u can get urself a decent laptop ... !

You could get a decent laptop for $500! $650 for a 4G smartphone is ridiculous... Ill hold onto my crappy DX until May, when I can upgrade.

thanks for posting this, i wasn't going to search around but maybe i can bring my phone back from the dead ? ... i downloaded the SBF, md5 sums match, and I am SBFing the phone right now, hopefully when it's done i'll have 621 at least running on it.

i'd rather keep my device since i had it from new, rather than accept the refurb. i don't understand why they would send me a refurb'd device if i am under warranty i would be entitled a new device.
