[ROM] CyanogenMod 9 [BETA] (DX) (8/19)

So when you say manually format. Is that the standard data wipe and cache wipe process?

Wipe data and cache, then go to mounts and storage. Format /system and then format /data. Then mount /system and mount /data. Then flash the ROM.

A bit of a different process. Can I go back to CM9 if I don't like it?

Yessir. Just format and mount system and data the same way you did to install. Then you can restore a backup or reflash.

This ROM is awesome let me say that first, however Im having a bit of a problem that I have not seen addressed yet. I wanted to download quickclock from the market and when I searched for it I couldnt find it, I found a direct market link to it but when I clicked it , it stated that this ROM is incompatible. I have the latest release installed, CM9-DX-03012012r2.zip, and I have tried both GAPPS as well as installed from a fresh SBF. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Same as on my phone. Luckily, I had a backup...

Oh yeah one more thing. After two successful SBF's and installs, and the requisite data wipes, when I went to set my wifi up my phone had all the previous network settings including the passwords. Shouldnt all that be gone?

There's a line in build.prop that will need to be changed from DroidX to DROID X. Should fix that.

Not if they are sync'd with your google account (are by default).

This didn't work for me. I did all of above cause I was beating my head trying to figure out how to get back to my back ups (I was missng manually parts) I ended up on the red logo and couldn't get past that. So I sbf'd then and not back to gingerbread. Just going to root and restore a back up.

Well, I have been wanting to go back to my stock .605 rooted just to see which is better on battery life. Everyone has said they have good battery life on this rom, but mine just get ate up fast. I can lets say, do a quick check of my email (couple min) then place a word in words with friends (another couple min) call someone for a min or two and then check my battery and I have already lost 10% or so.
Don't get me wrong, I love this CM9 ICS and it seems to run well on my DX, but the battery thing is killing me. It will barely last through a 6 hour shift at work.

Things I have noticed that don't work.
- camera (duh)
- mute button on phone
- some apps
- MMS, but I started using Go SMS and that fixed that issue.
- Bluetooth is garbage as far as sound goes

Sorry to hear it didn't work for you...

I really liked this ROM, but I couldn't deal with the battery and mainly the random reboots. That's why I have it in Boot Manager so I can switch back and forth easy.

Running MIUI now. Taking a bit to get used to but has some nice features. Kinda scared I won't be able to go back now. Just from reading above post.

I started running the latest build last night and I cannot seem to get MMS working. I am on Verzion and have the DX version flashed. I also put those files in /etc and set the permission correctly as per another users comment in this thread. I can now receive pictures but I cannot send them. Anyone have a fix or any idea why this may be? Other than that, I love this ROM and can't wait for further updates!
