[ROM] CyanogenMod 9 [BETA] (DX) (8/19)

They are for the most part pretty much the same so if your on cm9 now i would just stay there. I couldn't get the camera to work on gummy but it worked on cm9 for me so.... Make a nandroid of cm9 if you want and try gummy but imo for the most part they're the same.

I can't get the camera to work on Gummy either but overall I think it's a bit nicer than CM9, it has a bit more customization and the battery life is better. It also just kind of feels faster and smoother. I also pretty much never use the camera so it's not really a big issue for me.

Yeah leftspin you could be right about customization and battery life being better because i didn't check much out besides trying to get the camera to work. I was only on gummy for about 1/2 hr, i just wanted to take a quick look at it as i do with all roms. Im big into having my Netflix work so i don't stay on any rom if it doesn't lol... but i knew going into it that it didn't work but wanted to check out the camera anyway. So yeah you would have a better feel for gummy than i would since you spent more time on it.

Does gummy have a forum page yet? I am interested to try it
No gummy thread yet. See here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-roms/199030-cyanogenmod-9-beta-dx-37.html#post2051515

As far as customization & appearance, I think the major difference is the launcher. Gummy uses the Apex Launcher which (I think) is pretty great. If you put Apex on CM9, most of that stuff appears on the CM9 release too. There are some gummy-specific settings too, don't get me wrong. It's just that the majority of the look & feel seem to be around Apex.

Gummy is very solid for me. Enough that I am comfortable using it for my work day without concern. I am very much looking forward to seeing more progress on it - especially getting bluetooth audio working which would make it practical for use while driving.

Well I am about to give gummy a try and see what the difference is. My camera rarley works on cm9 anywho. Hoping fofr better performance and battery life on gummy.

Haven't tried it myself yet but it looks like it's working according to the thread i posted. I may try it out when i get off work tonight to see for myself i guess.

It works i just gave it a try.

One problem I was having with both this new one and the old cm9 on this thread is that chomp sms is rendering oddly. Its nothign huge but, on the screen with all my contacts in chomp the lines that go across are broken in the middle.

Any ideas whats up with that?

That's good the stock camera works.. On my way home from work so i guess I'll install it when i get home just to check out the camera. I don't know why your chomps is doing that I've never tried chomps myself, I've always just used the stock messaging app. If i remember i'll try chomps on this rom and see if i get what your getting.

So, I assume this CM9 Beta for DX is dead since 13th Angel is on Gummy now? I was really liking this. It has been my daily driver now with little to no restarts. In fact, I have been on the 2-21 build since it came out. Read about issues with newer builds and stayed happily behind. I guess I will try Gummy. Getting mixed reports from you all. Some say it is the same as this Beta, other say it is Apex like. I guess I won't know until I try.
