[ROM] CyanogenMod 9 [BETA] (DX) (8/19)

Here are the steps I took from stock Verizon .621:

1) SBF to MX .604 with root
2) Flashed rooted .621 Droid X
3) Flashed CM9 and latest gapps

Current info:

Android: 4.0.4
BB: BP_C_01.09.15P
Kernal: 2.6.32.9-g1282440mcbk83@il93lnxdroid08 #1
Build: IMM76D

I just tested the BT audio and made a call and received one and everything works great so far! Obviously I have only had it for 30 min but seems to be stable.

Thanks for the help getting me here.

I have a Slight Issue, Is there Anybody that Uses the SlideMe Market, because when I try to search with CM9 I get an error Continuously until I FC the app does anybody know why this is happening or if there will be a Possible fix also until fairly recently Twitter was working great, but now It crashes a few seconds after opening.

Sounds awesome. I just moved from "I'm pretty sure I want to go to .621" to "I am going to go to .621". I just need to find the time now...

What's the benefit of flashing .621? Better kernel and radio?

Better radio and the kernel is supposed to hands multitasking better.

But, you can get the upgraded radio. You need to sbf to Froyo, flash the radio zip, then Linux sbf to GB. It helps with 3G drops and has a bit better signal.

Its the Motorola system version that you flash ROMs over. 4.5.621 is the newest version but it is unrootable and the only way to install a rom over it is to flash 4.5.604 version from a Motorola Milestone X.

I'm assuming you are on .602 or .605 since you would know if you took .621.

So is it best to be on the 4.5.621 version? Is there instructions on how to get there? does it make sense for me to get there?

NO, DON'T GO TO 621. stay on 605 and root then recovery then install ROM

Two things. I'm on the latest build (for about a 1.5 weeks) and it has started to crash often and restart. Trebuchet launcher crashes a lot and DPSManager refuses to work as well... any thoughts?

How to install this rom

It is important to note that you must be running the Gingerbread Droid X kernel to flash this ROM. SBF to .602, root, bootstrap clockwork recovery. I had to go through a lot of **** before I finally figured this out. Hopefully I'll save someone else the trouble.

Having a problem I have several apps that will not work. And also I can't seem to install them again bc google play says they r not compatible with my device? Can neone help? Or point me in the right direction.

Those questions are not as straight forward as it seems like they should be to the one who asks them. If you go back a few posts to where I posted some rootzwiki links, they will answer your questions. Be sure to read more than just the OPs. They short is that once you upgrade to .621, you can never go back to an earlier version. You can root .621, but it is a bit round about. CM9 will install on .621.

.604 is kinda like the Milestone X's sister build to the Droid X's .621 build. This is why you can flash .604 over .621 but you cannot flash .605 over .621, they are 2 different lines. This is also why it is important to flash .604 in Linux; it won't overwrite the radios which are different between the DX and the MX.

If you have done the proper reading and you fully understand the risks and how to mitigate them, there are advantages to running off of the .621. If you are still asking these sorts of questions, you are not ready to upgrade.

Have you changed your LCD density? If so change it back to 240 also clear the data in your play store app.

Best kernel for Cm9

I flashed cm9 successfully after sbf to .602. Is it better to flash over .605? Is it worth sbfing again to get .605?
