did the random launcher crash the gets stuck in browser yet? i installed the new version, havent seen it yet.

No location fix for me on V 3.2 its not a deal killer since eveything else its been working fine. Not sure if this might help out a bit but when I got to settings - search - Google search and tap on my location it FC every time.

After watching and reading this thread for a day, I took the plunge and Dl'd.
Followed OP instructions and everything is fine, with the exception of the Home Launcher FC's and the location problem which everyone else is having.

I changed boot animation to the Star Wars R2D2 boot and added the Star Wars R2D2 soundboard.

Impressions: very different ROM which takes a bit of getting used to. I don't like not having an app drawer and arranging the apps is a pain. I DO like the 7-9 home screens. I love the lockscreen and interface. A little too much white type as well on menu screen, notification bar, etc as I do prefer some color and contrast.

I kinda like the stock ROM but will try the gala theme.

Everything pretty much re-loaded using both Backup Pro and Titanium.

A few apps not working: Washington Post, NYtimes, Youtube, Flixster. They seem to stall or FC. Actually, this seems to occur when in wifi mode and not in 3G mode; don't know if it's my network or something else. I did load a Slayher kernel and got a wifi error and wouldn't connect. Had to remove it.

Will give it a whirl for the next few days.

Excellent job, team!!!!!

an idea for you...and this is what I do. If you do not like having an app drawer...you can create a folder on the homescreen near the dock (where your app drawer would normally be) and name the folder "applications" or app drawer...etc. and move all of your random apps into that folder. Thats what I do, and if I need to search through my apps...I just go to that...and scroll through.

However...they are not in aphabetical order.

Just a recommendation. Give it some time and you will hopefully like it as much as most of us do.

It does take some time to get used to, but once you do...you will like it.

Its pretty quick and efficient way to navigate your phone.

can i flash this over .1 or should i wipe.....i dont wanna hear..."you can try it" if i dont have to i wont waste my time wiping

i hope all the kinks get worked out soon its gonna suck having to flash .4 .5 .6...every other night got mucho  4 met and zen (n bgill n everyone smarter then me making my phone sweet)

like when my post makes a new page

For both of your issues I would suggest that you try LauncherPro on top of this ROM. This ROM runs LauncherPro very well and is the fastest that I have found for that launcher. I don't have trouble with Youtube or the NYTimes apps.

The fast and stable running of LauncherPro is the ONLY reason that I am with this ROM. But I am really pleased with it!!!

The important issue that I have with the ROM is that the contact list no longer shows the difference between a fixed (landline - plain old telephone) phone that is a home phone versus one that is a work phone.

And finally I also have a question here. Is there any reason to flash 3.2 if I am not having any of the issues that 3.2 attempts to fix? My 3.1 is running very well.

Depends, I made incrimental changes to framework the launcher and the build.prop that should improve performance, but the next build either I or the team put out will contain those changes. All the rest of the work we have left is deep and will take some time. The next MIUI build isn't for another week because of a Chinese/Taiwanese holiday. Personally I can't get over the market issue and am working on it daily along with the location issues of course. I have a feeling a lot of the problems are intertwined.

Thanks, I re-loaded Launcher Pro and it is much better. However, when re-booting, the lag and screen draw is much longer with Launcher Pro then say, Liquid Frozen Yogurt.

I think my apps siutation is kernel based and will continue to experiment with different kernels.

I am getting to like this ROM and with further work by the developers, it will be top notch. Thanks!
