[D1-MIUI Changelog]

I'm still on V2 until *228 works and then ill worry bout it. Things are damn stable for me and I don't see a need for any other touches till update prl and meid.. then ill be happy. I don't even mind the Chinese left in some places. It doesn't effect my usage.

I thought that v2 had the same issue with *228. A phone fix was posted. Did you use that to fix your *228? If so and you have it you can use it again to fix v3.1 ! I just did this. You lose the original MIUI phone interface graphics when you apply the fix.

Finally figured out a band-aid fix to the network location issue on v3.1.

I went ahead and did a full wipe and flashed Sapphire, booted up, logged in, synced up, hit recovery and flashed MIUI over without a wipe.

Now when I select Network Location on/off I get the accept/decline dialog box and Network Location works flawlessly, but my Launcher crashes upon reboot. I guess it's the lesser evil (launcher would crash anyways upon removing from the dock).

So what you're saying is that at this juncture the only way to get this ROM to work properly is to install on top of another ROM.

::sigh::

I guess I'm going to be re-alphabetizing my home screen apps yet again.

Just use TB and backup Launcher 2.2. After you get all your apps back, restore it, then BAM, your screens are back.

Man, that is absolutely GOLDEN advice. Thank you! You just simplified my afternoon considerably.

Killer timing too, I was just getting ready to begin the installation process.

Can someone do me a favor. Try and install angry birds or google sky maps from the market. I keep getting installation failed. I believe it is because these are default apps2sd.
I just want conformation before I report in the bug tracker.

Do the folders you create with apps in them get backed up as well?

I've gotten the same notification for these two apps before (on another ROM - also with the game Slugs) and I believe you're right about it being because they default to the SD card. I always move them to the phone because I prefer not to have apps on my SD card.

I think to solve it you would have to format sd-ext in the partitions menu of Clockwork recovery.

Everyone one that's having location issues, do me a favor and run fix permissions in rom manager. Reboot you phone and let me know how it goes.

Also, make sure you aren't using wifi while youre using an app that needs to find your location. It doesn't work over wifi.

EDIT: I don't know if that's a fact, I just assumed it might not work over wifi, ignore that.

I've already proceeded to begin the process of installing over another ROM (SS 4.8). I was just about to install v3.1 on top of it. But I will create a backup of my current SS4.8, and flash back to my backup of v3 and see if running fix permissions works.

Flashed back to my backup of v3 version 3.1. Ran fix permissions in ROM Manager. Rebooted.

Still nothing. When I open the News and Weather widget it says "No weather information available". I try Menu button > Refresh over 3G first, then over WiFi. Location is still not working.

Unless you can fix this issue, this ROM still must be installed over another ROM for locations to work.

Agree, did not fix the issue for me either, unknown location.

:(

OK, I tried to install both V3 and V3.1 and I get the rror:
Assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device) == "sholes" || getprop("ro.build.product" == "sholes" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "sholes" E:Error in /sdcard/D1-MIUI-(whatever .zip I'm using)

When I reboot device, it simply takes me back to recovery....
HELP!!!!!

Yes. Those get backed up and restored as well.

When you chose install zip from sdcard, make sure asserts are disabled.
