Yeah the launcher FCs every time that I reboot as well. It FCs twice before the phone fully starts up.

I am also still getting google services framework FCs all the time too.

This is from the op, from now on read the entire thing before you post.


After you boot MIUI and before you do anything at all. Go right into settings - Applications - Manage Applications - All - Scroll to Contacts and select, force stop - Contact Storage and select Clear Data - Contact Sync Adapter, select force stop.... Scroll to Google Services Framework, select force stop then clear data.

If you skip this step you will get google services fc's all day.

I apologize I must have missed that. Sorry if this is a stupid question too, but do you mean I do this every time I boot or just the first time I boot when I flashed the rom?

Installed 3.1 followed all directions, beautiful weather and widgets does not find any location unless I hard code the zip code or city state. I tried the toggle bit and still not go. This works just fine if I come from a rom and then load MIUI on top so there is still a problem with the location issue on this build.

It seems like there isnt a need for me to update to v3 since I would have to wipe everything and reinstall. Im not having any issues with FC or camera, or ANYTHING....other than not being able to dial *228. And I dont really care about syncing fb to contacts. I only want people on my contacts list that I actually talk to. So...for me personally...I dont see the need to update yet.


In the future will updates be applyable as an "update" and not a new full release...requiring a wipe and reinstall?

Just finishing getting the 9.30 V3 setup here...haven't gotten to the V3.1 yet.
Wow...I'm amazed how this is progressing. I haven't had one fc yet and I may just have to keep it.

I do have one request...the home page will not go to landscape...apps will (not tested much), so there is something not quite there yet.

I think this baby is ready for beta! Very nice!

I haven't really read any negativity regarding 3.1, What's the deal people?????? I loaded up V3 w/Galaxy and so far its all good...aside from *228 (Hopefully don't need that soon),the editting contact pic, sd card and phone storage Fc, Its Almost PuRRRRRFFFEccctttt. I am looking forward to the Official Release of this Rom. Can "enable Scrollable Widgets" be implemented in next/current version?

The MIUI ROM was originally made for the N1/Desire, which don't have hardware keyboards, so I can understand why the Launcher doesn't rotate on the Droid. For that to happen, we would really have to mod it more deeply that what's already been done.

What value did VM heap size get increased to?

Sorry to hear that but am on 3.0 and location is on point w/BW..Haven't read much feedback w/3.1 so Am holding off on installing for now.

I got it wrong. The MIUI is 40 and the ss4.8 is 24. Had them switched up.

Can someone who has flashed this v3.1 please do me a huge favor.

Check VM heap size. Go to root explorer, /system/build.prop...view as text...scroll down to the line that contains VM heap size and please let me know the value shown in 3.1. Mine is v2 and the heap size is 40m.
