DMUpdater updated to root Droid 1, Droid X, and EVO 4G within app

This may be a dumb question, but if you use this method and want to "cough" unroot, would you use the http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hacking-faqs/39254-sbf-root-unroot.html back to stock method?

I was gonna ask a similar question. I know the original DMUpdater had the unroot option from within the app and that it worked perfectly. Does this new version of the updater have the same option to unroot?

it looks like it has the option to click stock but i havent tried it

So this is all you need if your stock 2.1? I can just download this, click root, and I'm good?

If so, how do you apply a rom after? (If this is general knowledge, I'll look it up, sorry, just not sure if it's any different)

The easiest way is to download clockworkmod recovery from the market... P.S do yourself a favor and buy the premium version!!!

YESSSSS!!! I've been waiting for this for weeks! I downloaded the file to my work computer, then emailed it to myself. I couldn't download the attachment via the Gmail app, but I was able to download it by accessing Gmail from within the Browser. I navigated to the file in Astro, then moved it to the root of my SD-card and ran it. No problems or hiccups during the quick process. Now I'm chillin' with SuperUser Permissions! DroidMod FTW!!

I unrooted just to test it. I figured out my problem, it was failing on one of the md5 checksums. I deleted the recovery image and started over and it is fine now.

Help

Hey guys,

I rooted for the first time using this method yesterday. I am now running CM6 - rc2. Btw, loving Froyo. Anyway, I went into ROM Manager and downloaded a Chevy kernel in order to overclock. However, I cannot boot into recovery mode to install it. I am holding 'x' and hitting the power button to turn it on and then releasing the power button while still holding 'x'. The phone just sits on the screen with the 'M'. After I let go, the screen flashes and goes back to the M screen and then boots up just like normal. Any clue on what is going on/ what I need to do to fix it?

Thanks!

the dmupdater

ok guys i have a question if i root my phone with dmupdater, will i get ota that verizon is supposed to be sending out soon for froyo or will it block it.

No. If you use dmupdater you will not be able to receive the 2.2 update. You'll be running Droidmod and that will block the update.

I do not know if that means you won't be prompted to update. We're sort of discussing this in another thread.
