Does your 4G ever drop for a few seconds or a couple of minutes?

This is a bunch of bull. VZW better not take a lot of time on this issue...but of course they will..

Not necessarily. Vzw has had issues with the way our devices register with the towers to have a signal with their network. This issue had greatly decreased after an update was released for it. Now its coming back. Perhaps they've changed something again, and the next update will address the issue. There's no way to be certain. :)

Wow, very interesting thread mbell. Thank you big time. I read through the whole thing. It seems like it is a sim card issue but the sim card fix is not fixing it for everyone.

VZW said the Otterbox causes it? Does this hold any validity because I use the comnuter case.

So, should we wait this out until a fix or get new sim cards?

I don't think it is necessarily the case. That was just one of the possibilies but not definite. It seems that the sim card is what is responsible but again it doesn't seem to be the absolute fix. Like 93lt said, verizon is messing with something that seems to have changed how our phones work (connect). These are the things I would try:

-run the moto restore reconnectivity app. Probably won't work but worth a try.
-try 94lt's fix, which seems to work for many things. Turn phone off, very carefully take out sim card, with sim card removed turn phone on, turn phone off again, carefully put sim card back in and turn phone back on. Help 94, did I get that right?
-call verizon or go to verizon so they know it is a problem and get a new sim card.
-wait until verizon fixes the problem.

Otterbox the cause, not bloody likely!
My phone has been out of it's case and I've had several drop outs today alone.
I've finally given up and switched back to 3g. Hope ICS fixes this, cuz I never had drop outs before.

Another case of Moto pushing another update too far?

Just dropped 2 min ago for the 456th time today! I'll try pulling out the sim card with that technique, if it doesn't work I'll be heading to Verizon in the near future.
