Samuri, I see by the little green indicator that you're on line, so here's hoping you can help me out. Below is the contenets of the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic\rsd\SWDL.txt file:

As you can see, I have had several instances with failed flashing processes.

Here's how I got here...

1. I began by downloading all the pertinent files; including upgrading to v6.0 of HoB
2. All hash sums agreed, so I initiated HoB.
3. Initial HoB steps were followed and I successfully pushed the 244 zip file to my ext-sdcard (with matching hash sums); booted Bionic into AP Fastboot; initiated HoB install.
4. I'm now at the end of the flash; having gone through 5 of the 6 steps with what seem to be appropriate waits. When step 6 is reached, it flashes "Unknown... (something or other)" which is, I'm assuming the "Unknown fastboot command..." line in the log file.

Things I have done:

1. When it happened the first time, the phone was stuck in AP Fastboot; the HoB batch file was stuck at
"Note: Your phone will remain in AP Fastboot..........."

"Cleaning up..."

"Press any key to continue . . ."

Pressing any key to continue brings me to "Options for 244 update"

I should note that I've been to this point several times and exited the HoB. The phone doesn't want to boot after I power off to leave AP Fastboot in every instance. By that I mean that I have to pull the battery, reinsert it and then press the power button. The Motorola logo shows on the screen for ~45 seconds and the screen goes blank.

I have also removed the ex-sdcard and verified the 244 zip file is there and that it has the proper hash sum; verified by comparing it to the zip file on my PC.

Pleaese advise

You have not had any instances of failed flashing at all in that log. What you have done is failed to read the OP fully before flashing. :) Take special note of this part:

o) When RSD is flashing for updates, an error will be thrown in the last step, RSD will quit, and your phone will remain in AP Fastboot. This is desired. Leave your phone in AP Fastboot and go to the next step in the script.

meaning, you simply have failed to finish the rest of the install by going to the next step and following the instructions to reboot into recovery and flash the update. Nothing is wrong at all. Simply how the script works.

EDIT: To be clear, you flash with step 3, the next step is 4...

Oh HELL. I just noticed this part. You tried to boot the phone from AP Fastboot? I can't guarantee the integrity of your data now. :( You're essentially trying to boot the phone with a 905 system, preinstall, and webtop with a 244 boot img. Yes, it'll fail every time. That's because you didn't go to the next step which says to shut the phone off and boot directly into recovery WITHOUT letting the phone boot. The state you're in now sucks. You're going to have to do the following.....

o) Boot the phone into AP Fastboot (power off, hold volume down, power on)
o) Load the House of Bionic
o) Select INSTALL 244
o) Select option 3 on the menu.....this time do NOTHING with the phone when it finishes
o) Press any key to get back to the menu, then select option 4 on the menu
o) Follow the instructions

Once you've installed the update and wiped the cache, reboot and pray. Given that you've likely corrupted your data by trying to boot the phone, you may end up with several things....a boot loop is possible or an unstable hard to predict whacky install of 244 that'll boot but give you random problems. My advise is to factory reset the thing in recovery and start over. But you're welcome to try booting it after following my instructions EXACTLY and see what happens.

Well, I read your last post just as I was exiting "apply update from sdcard", so I'm down the unknown path. We'll see what we get.

Thanks for your prompt response, btw. ALWAYS appreciated.

It's optimizing applications as I type...

Yea, I mean try it and see how it works. Give it at least 24 hours to allow ICS to settle down. If after that you're having all kinds of issues, then a factory reset is in your future along with a reinstall of your apps. But if it works, sweet. Consider the stars in your favor. :)

Well, I've always been accused of leading/living a "charmed life", so perhaps it'll be okay. :p

First impressions would imply that all is well. Several apps decided to update and all the apps and data appear to be there as well.

Your process and steps may be more bullet proof than you at first imagined:). I used to code myself many years ago and just loved turning over my "baby" to the users for them to destroy. We called what they did "stupid user tricks" because, regardless of how much we tried to build in to keep them from crashing the program, they'd always find a hole and stick a foreign object into it; just to see what happens.

Later man and thanks again!

I'm a software engineer and have been coding since childhood so I've been around the block a few times. That's why I've tried so hard to make the process as dead simple as I possibly can. But it's not without risk, especially with 235+ builds. I'm glad it's working for you now.

Stuck at Upgrading Media Database

Installed 244 from 905 using HoB. All went smoothly, phone rebooted, went to "Android is upgrading...." after updating all applications and other items, have been stuck at "upgrading media database" for about 45 minutes. Would this be normal or is there something I should do? Buttons on phone don't do anything. I do have lots of music and video. I am getting worried.

Update - took 3 1/2 hours to finish. Phone is now working well. Thanks to SamuriHL for making this go smoothly.

I'm sure that it hasn't changed but by chance in the .244 update did they allow you to link your "Ringer" & "Notification" volumes? This has been the only thing I have not been able to stand about ICS for the Bionic. Thanks
