Droid 1/2 Extended Battery

it is compatible. im sure theyre not going to say so because they want people to upgrade to a newer phone
It's not that.

It's not compatible because it's the wrong color and some of the aftermarket products such as cases and holders don't fit with this battery installed.

It IS compatible because it works perfectly with the Droid One, extends the available mA's by about 40%, fits the multimedia stand and is recognized by the phone with the available power reporting correctly.

As soon as I installed this battery and cover I knew I'd done the right thing. The color may be slightly off, but it's designed for the Droid One/Two chassis, so it's a natural fit.

The only thing I have that's not a plug n' play fit is the windshield holder, and that can be fixed with a couple of simple mods. In my case, I'm going to pass the Droid One holder to my wife and I'm going to get a new Droid Two holder which is made to fit with this battery.

Problem solved, she's happy, I'm happy. :icon_ lala:

well if you wanna get technical! lol. im sure the new droid 2 cases will fit though.
Well, you know.......

I have a hard case/holster that fits with the extended batt, so that was a non-issue. Those that have form fitting cases/gloves are going to have an issue, no doubt.

I got to say, contrary to my previous post this battery has really came into its own lately. My battery life has been GREATLY improved after a few charging cycles.

I'm wondering if perhaps my form fitting case would fit the battery if perhaps I removed the battery case?? idk if it would even hold or be a good idea though. If I get this battery and I find that i can get at least a good 15 hours on medium usage I will be satisfied nontheless..

Like the poster a couple posts above me said, I also agree that after the first cycle or so, it definitely seems like the battery performance has improved.

Well, after about 36 hours of use with this new battery setup, I was impressed. Note that this is on a stock droid, No Root. Started at about 11 AM Saturday and have not recharged since. Did some limited calling, internet surfing and navigation and battery life wasn't too bad.

However, I did have a side effect occur tonight. Apparently my phone was at about 20% at the time and somehow I wasn't able to make calls and receive texts or calls. Apparently my friend tried calling me up during this timeframe and so came by to inform me that he tried calling me up. I had to restart, and the battery meter read at 50% after that and phone service was restored.

The only thing I can think that could be preventing me to make phone calls is the Droid 1 Hard Case and Holster I've got may be putting too much pressure on the antenna areas with the extended battery and cover on. Has anybody else had the same side effect occur to them? Is it recommended to try getting a droid 2 case and see if that helps with the reception issues?

Thanks for your time and help in this matter.

My experience with extended batteries is that you don't get much more in the way of increased performance. Recco you just pick up another battery and keep it with you as a backup.

I just got my battery today and I'm going to run it down before charging it up, its at 60% right now.

I'm using it with the Innocase without the battery back on right now. Would love to find a back for the Droid 1 that supports the battery cover.
