Droid 1/2 Extended Battery

Got my battery Friday and charged it up to full from the 50-60% that was in the battery went it came. Got about 36-38 hours of battery life out of it. I am rooted with Lithiummod ROM and a 950mhz kernel, clocked at 850. So far so good with me. I recharged it last nite and am at about 70% of battery life at roughly 10 hours unplugged. I've had about an hour or so of calls, about 50-60 texts roughly throughout the day. Sync is turned off because I am by a computer at the office. That will obviously change when I go home tonite, but I am impressed. Hopefully the battery life will improve more with a few charging cycles...

ill take one battery any day over two
Indeed. Lith/ion batteries last longer when maintained at full charge, they don't have memory like NiCads, don't have to be exercised by a full drain before a full recharge either. They do lose capacity as they age, so the person who mentioned that we're seeing some big improvements because these extended batteries are new is at least partially correct.

However, going from 1390 mA's to 1820 mA's is a nice jump for such a small increase in weight and thickness. Some of us, with the older Droids, probably went from 1100-1200 to the 1820 level, thus seeing the nice increase in longevity.

After nearly a week I'm not impressed. I've went though 4 charge cycles and Battery left says it has 21:44 hours while the stock battery showed 20:00 hours. Both run for 18 hours before whining about low charge. Today I'm off work so I let the phone sit on my coffee table and used it very little, after 13.5 hours Battery left shows only 34%.

Good thing I got a separate charger to keep both batteries topped off. I plan on keeping one at work and the other in the phone of course. I must have a real good stock battery because it seems to be every much as good as the extended.

Wow, sounds like you got a bad one, I tested mine this weekend, and with moderate to light usage (email,HomeRunBattle, texts, browser, phone calls, i didnt hit 34% for about 24 hours. During the week i use it more, i made it probably 10 hours with moderate to heavy use to get to ~35% (also had bad signal during this time, 59% without signal)

+1 for me I have had this battery longer than anyone on this thread as i was the first to purchase and install. and this battery is well worth the money and wow it is great I charge over night and with heavy usage I don't need to charge tell the next night. sorry for all those who have not noticed an increase. I would suspect phone setup over physical battery issue for most of you. there is a lot you can do with apps and kernels that can extended battery usage with out the extended battery then add the extended battery and it gets even better.

I'm getting 20 to 25 hrs of heavy heavy usage out of my current setup I could even get up 35 if i used setcpu and profiles but i don't like that app so opt for internal cpu control from my current rom.

best of luck to all who have this new battery...

So I am looking to possibly purchase this battery but I have a question, I am sure it has been answered but I don't really want to read back through 22 pages. I have the Seidio Innocase and I was wondering if I left the battery cover off, if my case would fit over the battery?

The Innocase will fit with the extended battery, but ONLY if you do NOT use the battery cover.

is it confirmed that this will fit the moto media station? or just the seidio one. If it fits the moto one I'm buying it today

Someone answered and said you had to trim a bit of plastic on the dock to make it fit.

Seidio's dock is made to accept the covered or un-covered Droid, I think you move a slide or take a spacer out.

I've swapped my Seidio back with the cheap one from Amazon kept the Seidio benzel ring now I have the cover, the case and it all fits the belt clip. Geek to the bone!

I just realized the latest battery accuracy was way off! My hour meter for the battery use was frozen at 13h 23min, so I reset it and will refresh the data before I get excited. The more I think about it, I left on the coffee table but I also read a bit and went to bed so it must be more than 13 hours. We'll see this time.

Alright, that is kind of what I had gathered from the two threads currently going. The Innocase is snug enough to keep the battery in place correct? I can't imagine what it would hurt to just have the innocase on the back.

I really wouldn't say that this extended battery fits the multimedia dock. It does go on.... BUT.... It barely goes on there and I am worried that I'm going to loose connection, especially if I'm connected to my computer and have my SD card mounted. Don't wanna to chance corrupting my data just so I can force my phone on the dock.

Also... I haven't read about anyone modifying the multimedia dock to make the extended battery fit. I don't think you could because of the magnetic piece that is on there. The dock is very form fitting to the stock phone with the stock battery.

Has anyone tried a Droid 2 Multimedia dock?

Ok , so here's the scoop on the multimedia dock, when i put mine into the dock it barely fits and it doesn't act quite right, when my girlfreind puts it into her dock, it actuallly loses battery over night. So i'm gonna say , no it doesn't really fit the dock.

I also should say, i've had the battery for a little over a week now and honestly i see not much of a difference over the stock battery. Now I am running a non rooted phone with not additional task killer apps or anything like that.

Thank you... I'll try to post my pictures of it.

Who plugs their phone phone in 3/4 of the way all crooked and calls it good?

I'm kinda starting to think I should have just bought an actual Verizon Stock battery instead of finding a so called "OEM" battery cheap online that doesn't come close to the battery life I already get. This is of course what I did before finding this extended battery.

I haven't gotten as good of life with this "extended battery" as my original stock droid battery either. Hopefully, with enough time and use, the battery will start performing.
