Droid 1/2 Extended Battery

Just ordered my battery like an hour ago. Should expect it this Tuesday. crossing my fingers it will meet my expectations. I'll be relieved to get at least 14 hours or so on medium use but I should be able to expect more if I'm good about it. I will report back. :D
i wonder how the stand-alone charger would work that charged the first droid battery. Probably won't fit it. Oh well..lol

My stand alone battery charger fits the extended battery perfectly. I assume you have the "Universal Battery-Only Charger" for Motorola Mobile Phone Batteries.

For those with this extended droid 2 battery using with the droid, could you post pictures? I think I'm gonna order this battery. Hopefully I can get some discount. It would definitely be worth it if I could get 36 hours out of a charge.

Oh cool thanks! yeah that bump doesn't look to bad at all. Can you set it flat on a table an use the phone without it rocking back an forth/moving?

If you do not use a case for your droid then you will not notice a difference with your phone at all. The extra battery life is well worth it.

i just bought one and got it today, right now im charging it first charge on a battery charger. My theory is since it doesnt turn the phone on and it just charges the battery, this would be the most optimal way of giving it the first charge without using it prematurely. right or wrong?

Have you used it with the car dock? That is my last concern before purchasing this battery. I use the car dock all the time, and I would need it to fit.

The Ex-Battery is a must have. The slow battery drain makes me forget to charge all the way sometimes.

alright i just put it into my phone. just in time too cause my other battery had died. Im really hoping this is worth the 50 bucks i dropped. I put my screen timeout to 30mins and birghtness all the way up and all settings on and gonna put all my system settings on high. im trying to get it drained by the time i have to go to work tomorrow around 1pm.

update:
After 2 hours of use the battery says 70% with everything turned on and screen always on highest brightest setting and used a few apps and played a game for 30mins.. hmm.. i dont think its a read error because i rebooted and it still says 70%. not looking to be a huge improvement unless this battery does not read correctly. any ideas? rooted moto droid cyanogen mod 6 final oc 1gig chevy kernel.

Give it a day or two and you will definitely get 14 hours of continuous use out of the phone. I get that on a regular basis. Sometimes I can get 24 hours out of my battery.
I haven't gotten the extended battery, yet. How long does the reg. battery give you?

Tests have to be at around a little over 7hrs.

I wonder how long a regular battery lasts on a dx?

Update: i just got to 60% after almost 4 hours of usage, heavy misc usage (backlight always on, setcpu max 1gig clock, autokiller set to ultimate preset, reading emails, sending a few texts. Also running wallswitcher app to change the wallpaper continuously every 1min. Wifi, bluetooth, gps, 3g, sync on, and highest brightness). Just turned on pandora and am running it continuously in addition to these current settings. Im thinking about turning the wifi off and running on 3g, would this use more battery?

:icon_ goofy: You're really putting the extended battery to the test eh?!

Are you trying to see how the battery reacts to many processes open at the same time?

I hope that's all you're trying to do, because if you're trying to kill the battery just to "cycle it" and do a "full first charge", you're not really doing anything at all for it!

Don't forget that these batteries are LITHIUM ION, and NOT NiCad. It's the NiCad batteries that benefit from deep cycles. Lithium Ion batteries run better when they're kept charged. Don't just take my word for it... feel free to do a few Google searches and check it out for yourself.
