Droid 2 Global ROOT, CUSTOM RECOVERY & SIM UNLOCK Tutorial

I tried the directions in OP and it kept hanging and hanging and hanging... So I gave it a rest and then later tried Darkonion's root exploit from my desktop PC. Still no joy. I waited another day (real life called!), and tried z4root one more time...

I did a "temporary" root with z4root and it won't go away.

As in, I've reset the phone, pulled the battery, and I still have the superuser option. I know z4root is supposed to have an unroot option but when I open z4root I only have 2 options, temporary root and permanent root. No undo option.

Can anyone tell me how to unroot?

What makes you believe it is still rooted? If you are rooted z4root should display a screen saying re-root or un-root. If you are un-rooted it will ask if you want temp or permanent root in my experience.

Like I said above, I still have the Superuser app/option. Whatever you wanna call it.

It is not avaliable on the market. Some one correct me if i am wrong but i think it got pulled by google(or carriers or phone manufactures)or the dev pulled it.

If your looking for an easy way to get it on your phone use Dropbox - Simplify your life and install the app on your phone and pc, you can then download it to your phone and it will prompt you to install it. I try to keep a back up of my important data like titanium backups and roms in my dropbox for quick easy access on the go.

I need to download 1.3 first. The registration over at xda is F@@Ked up at the moment and I don't want to use this version if it's not current.

rooting Droid Pro

Hi all I have been following the directions posted on how to root my droid pro. I have been trying this for hours already and still cannot get it to root, any ideas as to why? any help would be appreciated.

Bootstrap delete

I unrooted my D2G with Z4Root, and now when i restart the phone for whatever reason, the green screen shows up. I guess the bootstrap program is still running and wanting me to reboot the phone etc. How can i get rid of this so it look and acts like a stock phone even on start up. Thanks

I have no idea how to do this, im a noob. I have read over all the forums, but they are all in greek to me. No one seems to speak english anymore, so I don't know how to sbf'd the phone. If it works to get the phone back to factory without the green start up screen then ill do it, but I need to know how.

If you go to the sbf thread there is a video walk through. If you cant follow along with that, sorry to say but you dont need to mod the phone till you understand what your doing. Not to be rude but it doesnt get any easier then following a video of some one walking you through the process, and even then if you just read the step by step, you cant go wrong. TBH, it really is just a matter of using common since. I mean, if your phone is messed up, you know your going to reset it back to a factory state. So you boot in to recovery and there is an option called wipe data/factory reset. It really speaks for itself. Thats not a put down, but just a generalized statement.
