Droid 2 Miui install/bug/questions&answers thread.

I haven't tried MIUI yet, but it gets better battery than CM7. It only has 10% battery increments though in this build. There is a workaround for 1% battery increments but I can't get them to work on my phone.

SSX v2.0

I downloaded the latest MIUI with patch and it's working fine with 1% increments.

Yes, there is a setting in Settings for 1% increments, no work-around needed.

Im checking out MIUI and so far Im liking it, the only thing I miss is being able to customize LED notifications like in CM7. Is it possible to do on MIUI?

EDIT: My apps didnt restore through the market can I use Titanium and restore my apps w/ data?

If you've installed the most recent version (the .1 release) then all you may need to do is wipe cache for market and reboot.

I did update to the latest and wiped cache for market with reboot but still no restore of apps =(

Wipe market data and cache, then, and reboot again.

Then after reboot if your apps don't show, go into the Market and install any random free app, and then sit tight and wait...you might even need to go though a couple more reboots, but should work.

Why are 1% battery increments so important? I hate it actually. It's like a ticking time bomb. I'd rather not see it. I feel compelled to keep looking at the number. Personally, I could care less

I like it because then I have a more accurate idea of the status of my battery. I think 5% would be a good compromise though.

I prefer the 1% increments...I want to know whether I'm at 72 or 79, 51 or 58, etc. The rounding to 10% doesn't work for me. If someone prefers 10% increments, they can just round up or down in their head. ;-)

Manually changing it (copying bootanimation.zip) to /system/media does evidently work, did for me and another who tried it on rootz thread.

Changing it via a theme doesn't appear to work properly.

Why doing it manually didn't work for Swagger isn't clear (or wasn't last night the last I heard from him).

I was happy with 10% increments for the exact reason you've given.

Not true. No need to sbf.
Now, if you flashed the gb leak and then a gb rom and say, wanted to try a 2nd init gb rom based off the froyo kernel (like cyanogenmod or miui), then you'd have to sbf to froyo.
You're already on froyo so you can jump to any froyo rom or any gb rom based off the froyo kernel (cm, miui etc..)
Hope that makes sense ;p

CM74D2

So I assume that you do this all through CW Recovery/Bootstrap.
