Droid Price Cuts

Apparently until 2/28/2010 there is a Verizon Wireless VIP Program if you have a plan that is $79.99 or higher. This will get you an additional $50.00, so combine that with NE2 you could get the phone for $99.99.

that VIP discount is in effect all the time.

Back in december i used my NE2 upgrade and my VIP customer discount.

went to the verizon store:
phone: $300
NE2: -100
VIP: -$50
MIR: -$100

phone only cost me $50 after mail in rebate..

From my understanding on another forum and the fine print of my link that Verizon is ending the VIP Program forever after 2/28/2010.

Oh well thats news to me. they never mentioned anything to me about an expiring offer..

Just got off the phone with them. The Verizon Wireless VIP Program is no longer accepting new customers and is set to expire for everyone 2/28/2010. So I was unable to get the additional $50.00 - only my NE2.

just got a droid at my best buy for 148.88, they price matched wal mart for me, sold me a zagg invisible shield (not sure if i'll actually use it) and i walked out the door with their insurance, the phone, and the screen protector for 178 and some change... not bad

good deal on the phone.. Invisible shield sucked to me.. was alot easier pulling the stickers off than it was putting em on too..

Just search HERE and click on the Bing Cashback link.
You'll get $99.99 plus $50 from Microsoft.

Overstock is HERE but with no Bing cashback.

Wirefly page says sale ends Sunday. It's probably the same for Overstock since they are run by the same company.

We're looking at phones this weekend and like the Droid. Wirefly looks good, as does Best Buy and others but what happens if there is a problem with the phone?

My Blackberry locked up a year ago and couldn't get it to do anything. Took it into the corporate store where I bought it, they fixed it right there.

Verizon told me I can not take the phone (from Wirefly) to a corporate store to be fixed (for free) if something like this happens.
I've read Wirefly's site and only find a satisfaction guarantee, which involves losing money.

Is there any support from Wirefly\Best Buy retailers?

Walmart.com has the moto Droid for $99.99 plus you can get a trade-in credit for your old phone. I have looked, but can't find the terms & conditions. Is there a cancellation fee, etc. like the Wirefly deal? Has anyone had experience buying from WM wireless online?

WalMart.com is Letstalk, which has a similar cancellation fee like Wirefly, BestBuy, etc. It's really no big deal unless you plan to break your contract within 6 months, in which case you should just pay to buy one without a contract.

MuzzleBuster points out the bigger difference. Wirefly's satisfaction guarantee is 30 days. If you buy from them, and it turns out you got a lemon phone that's malfunctioning after more than 30 days, then you are dealing with Motorola's warranty, which means sending it in to them.

I got mine yesterday. I got $50 off with the VIP discount, plus another $100 rebate. Also, with the BOGOF deal, I was able to get an HP Mini netbook. All I had to do was pay the sales tax and the data plan. We tweaked my phone plan and reduced that by $30/mo. With the $40/mo data plan, I'm only out $10 more a month.

Verizon online is offering Moto Droid for $199 & get one free with 2 yr. contract
Just ordered mine from verizon online, one for me one for the wife & chc tch for the rug rat. Apparantly the annual upgrade is not included in the bogo. I had to put the chc tch on the primary & do the droid bogo with two secondary lines that were out of contract. When they show up I'll just have to activate them and then reactivate the old phones and swap them around. Yeah I could have called and have them do an alternate upgrade but I didn't won't them screwing with my Alltel plan.

Just purchased a Droid. From the $299 price, they took off $100 for ordering online, and another $100 from the "New Every 2" discount. Cost a whole $99 plus tax...not bad at all! It shows up here on Monday...can't wait!
