Droid Razr Maxx HD waiting lounge.

This has sort of a pattern. Last year motorola rushed a phone out around this time that got a lot of hype and love but under the radar flew something else. Fast forward to a phone getting hype and will be a good phone but something else is flying under the radar. I wonder what motorola will do in November to celebrate the droidline that basically rebuilt the company. A company now owned by the company who motorola 's phone gave life to its software.
Hmmmm.

Well, as you allude to now that Google is backing Moto so to speak I'm hopeful that the Droid line will return to its former glory.

The moto nexus could be the first moto with the Intel processor, and who knows what kind of display... Christmas time is coming, not soon enough... lol

So am i. The community want it. We want a droid line that rivals samsung. I want that one great motorola phone that motorola spend time and effort to innovate and make a yearly release (ie samsung galaxy series and iphone). Give us one great phone a year and support it for at least 2 years.

I agree with you. I will say I love my S3 but if Motorola came out with a phone that would be a game changer like the S3 I would switch back to them in a heart beat

Im not going to lie, the maxx has been the most satisfying DROID ive ever used. I complain about it a lot, i get frustrated with it a lot, but when it comes down to it...it's literally the only phone that i have felt content with since my Motorola v400 :).

I can only hope the HD is what the maxx was (on gb at least), that is the best phone i could have owned for my specific needs :)

Sorry let me clarify the motorola droid line for vzw is meant to be a phone for business and average users. The google nexus side of the company is fully open for development. If motorola makes a nexus it won't be a droid line product. In other words i expect motorola phones on vzw to remain locked unless it's a nexus. If motorola signed an agreement with vzw then they would be obligated to keep it locked down. Given the samsung galaxy nexus on vzw is unlocked and the gs3 isnt. Im betting motorola phones will remain locked except for the motorola nexus.

Well I hope ur right then, I mean I would love to see them all unlocked but as long as I can get my hands on a Moto nexus id be so happy.

Certainly hopeful for what this could mean for the Droid 5 as well. I know some people love their D4s, but the thing looks and feels like poop to me, and the D3 was violated in terms of true support from Moto/VZ. I'm still hoping that Sony releases one quality device on par with the Ion, but with a larger battery, to VZ. They are much more in touch with the dev community. Moto needs to kick it into high gear because loyalty in the phone game is a very fickle thing.

So with the recent leaks, football season coming, and the iphone 5 in September, is it safe to say we'll see this phone this month?

Is it just me, or does it look like there's no way to have a door for the SD card with the rolled edges of the Kevlar back?

A good read. And I agree I hope not though I like SD card slots.

I noticed this pic shows the HDMI & USB ports, could that other thin gray section be a door for the SIM and SD? It doesn't appear to be hinged, so it would be snap-in perhaps? Personally, I love the flip-down door on the MAXX. I would hate to see it go the way of the DODO Bird. Doors that don't remain attached are prone to being lost.

Edit: I suppose it could be on a thin tether once pulled out, like earlier phones, but still, I prefer the hinged door to even a tethered removable cover.

It might be a push lock type tray like sd cards.
