I can only give my humble opnion in that the Razr may not be the best phone out there but it is awesome nonetheless, you might wanna give smart acctions a chance to work out those battery issues...
Regular not maxx and i use it, but i do not have things like facebook apps pushing or gallery widgets running.
I have 3 email accounts always pushing, some texting, mms and very light phone use, maybe 1 hour total
over the last 24 hours. All I really use is auto-off in the task manager. I have a bluetooth headset I used for
about half the calls, and I probably listened to 1/2 hour of music over it too. Watched a few youtube videos
over wifi (10 minutes total over the last 24hr) and a few stored videos too (1/2hr total maybe a little more).
I was one of those guys who didn't like the Razr's battery life. I saw improvements after using the smart actions app and juice defender ultimate. I thought that was it until I flashed my the eclipse ROM. With this ROM I see more battery life and my phone doesn't ran hot and unbearable any more. Between having my laptop, tablet and this phone I can easily go over a day with moderate usage. Big UPS to the devs and their hard work. Don't knock it until you know its full potential. Droid does, Razr cuts
My only complaint is the awful battery life. Even with Juice Defender it sucks. I didn't have much of a choice when getting a razr. Its either get a razr or keep my bionic.....I chose razr

Razr one of the worst phones I've owned. It leaves you feeling cheated and ripped off.Just a few to think about before you buy, screen gets to hot, battery life sux, list goes on an on.I will never buy a another Motorola phone again.

With some/little research...you will find that things like JuiceDefender actually use more battery than they save. Do some in-depth research on the Android OS in general and you will find that it is designed to run efficient by design...more so with recent versions.
if you know how to properly use your phone, you can easily get 12-15 hours from it with normal use. I, along with many others here, have been able to go 24 hours or more on a single charge.
I am a first-time smartphone user and, quite unlike me, I haven't read the materials that come with it. I've relied on family for hints, tips, etc. But, alas I have some peace and quiet and I would be most grateful if you could tell me a couple of quick tips to extend battery life as I, too, will be using my phone as my alarm clock. Thanks a lot!

I use smart actions battery extender, and sync my emails manualy, started doing that when i had a d1 and the sync would cause pandora to pause. First night i did that i gained 3+ hours.
