[APPS] Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

Somebody else went through awhile back you haven't got something set weight he is still on the market loom back about a couple weeks on.this forum

So I installed the app. Everything works great. I can run 1.35 on ulv with no reboots and no force closes. But even on high I can't run 1.40 well. They don't reboot my phone they just go very very slow. Any ideas on how to make them faster.

I am a person who wants to test everything under the hood, so under the hood of this app I went and found Dalvik VM Heap, and so did some research on this just to see what it does. Without going into details, it can enhance performance, but I suggest reading about it, for everything has pros and cons. I also found out that my animated weather on beautiful widget stopped working, and researching this problem I found that I had tweaked the resolution of my Droid through this app, which will affect the animation. I set the resolution to stock setting and I have my animation back. Look at everything the app offers and research it before executing anything.

Overclock

I love the hell out of this app but out of all the settings what would you say is the best speed to run it without killing the lifespan of your processor ?

Heat is what affects ur cpu lifespan the most. I live in wisconsin so even at 1.35ghz im still about 95 degrees.
Also if I remember correctly ur cpu can withstand temps of 160+

You know if you google this question you get a lot of answers, but I narrowed it down to that anything about 150 degrees for a period of time is going to sustain some major damage. The key component is selecting low temperature voltages, and having solid profiles. Here is what I have:

1.35 MHz - 400MHz Low Voltage

My profile's are not many, but works for me, and here they are:

Screen off set at 100% to scale down at 900MHz - 400 Mhz on demand

Charging AC/Full at 96% is also the same settings

Screen on at 94% is at 1350 MHz - 400 MHz on demand

Temp > 44 ( I couldn't zone in on 110 degrees) Celsius at 82% is scaled down to 900 MHz - 400 MHz also on demand

Finally I have my battery at less than 40% to scale down to 900MHz - 400 MHz also on demand

So far I am running temperatures under 100 degrees, and under a moderate load such as surfing on the net etc.... I will run around 107 degrees tops, but soon as the screen goes off it scales down ( see above), and my phone immediately goes under 100 degrees. With everything I have done to my Droid 2, my benchmark with a 100% charge is close to 1700. I am satisfy with this, and besides, it gives me less gray hair.

Set On Boot will not retain settings

After 2.3.340 DX Overclock doesn't seem to 'remember' set freq at boot setting anymore.

Everything runs normally - (1.4 low V) except every time I reboot, it reverts back to stock (1000/300) and I have to manually set it back.

I have ininstalled and reinstalled multiple times....

Anyone? Or, is this a 2.3.340 bug?

Mr Jrummy or.....

Has anyone figured this out yet? I've rebooted and yanked battery MANY times, still cannot get reset on boot to retain settings.

I was having the same problem,"Keeping my pre-sets at boot" and for me here is what I have done to get the pre-sets to keep on boot.

1 Go and set up the configuration you want, do this in the pre-set area.
run this for a few minutes.

2. Go and set your configurations under the set options at boot.

When I re-Boot, All my configurations keep on boot, I have changed many time with no problems.

Merry Christmas

I cant speak for everyone but I have beautiful widgets and my animation is fine using this app...

Watching my battery use, I have noticed this app is a battery whore. From last charge 57% has gone to droidover clock and 17% to display.

Still getting random restarts. this time when the phone was charging.

Also whats the max voltage. Wats the cut off point? I saw that on ultra low 1350 was at 76v. just seems like allot

Big Fate, if you click on EXTRAS, then BUILD PROPERTIES, and finally arriving at your destination called LCD DENSITY. The default LCD DENSITY is 240. I read by lowering the number the better the resolution, so I lowered my LCD DENSITY down to 220. It was at this point I lost my Weather Animation on Beautiful Widget. I then googled the causes, and it said if you just recently tweaked your resolution you can lose your animation. I then set my LCD DENSITY back to the stock number and guess what? Animation. Try it and you will see.

May be late to the party but man is it nice to have my phone running as quickly as it is. Amazing what even a minor overclock does for performance.

Only gripe is I like my photoframe plus widget, which doesn't appear to be working properly since installing this.
