[APPS] Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

Does anyone know if this app is compatible with the Droid 2Global? The OP mentions a supported phones list, but I can't find this list anywhere...?

This app is number one in saving battery life! I'm underclocked @, 800mz and my phone is still fast!. Thank you for all the hard work jrummy!

Droid X. Rooted with Z4root and underclocked to save battery life.

Downloaded Droid Overclock App. However, the overclock module doesn't install. Phone is rooted and using standard kernel. Anyone got any ideas?

First off im a total overclocking noob ! I used quickclock to get my best settings and then i was going to transfer those settings over to this overclock but its not as easy as i thought after seeing these settings ... quickclock said my best setting would be - 1406 MHZ Max - 300 MHZ Min - 14 VSEL - 15.0 Buffer ... so how do I take those settings and input them into this overclock ? Sorry for the noob crap question and THANX for any help !!!

To import the setting from Quickclock Advanced - Open Quickclock, press Overclock, press menu (hard button) the select Export. Close out open Droid OC. Select Adv/Custom, menu (hard button again), Import then select Overclock. Should work, at least it did for me.

What phone do you have? The app is made for the DX/D2, and the only option is the standard kernel.

So I dont have to load up anything else if I use this app? Coming from D1 where I had to load custom kernels and such to make overclocking work. But I know with a locked boot loader, you can't use custom kernels. So I just install this and set it up? Might give it a try after work tonight if that's the case.

Hi,

I have been using Jrummy's Droid X Overclock app for awhile and I really like it. I need help setting up the profiles in it because there are just some things that I don't understand since I am not that savvy at these things. Before I bothered with the profiles, I would just set the processor to ULV at 1.35 Ghz because I want my phone to be snappy but set it at ULV to save power (or at least thats what I think it does, correct me if I'm wrong). I currently have set 2 profiles, screen on and screen off. Here are the details on them:

Screen on:

Max Freq: 1350 Mhz
Min Freq: 1350 Mhz
Gov: Performance
Priority: 100

Screen off:

Max Freq: 400 Mhz
Min Freq: 400Mhz
Gov: Performance
Priority: 23

What I want to achieve in these profile settings is for the phone to be really snappy when the screen is on and for the processor to use as little power as possible when the screen is off. What do you guys think of the profiles? Feel free to make any suggestions.

What I don't understand is what the priority slider is for when setting the profiles up. I set the screen off priority slider to 100 and the screen off slider to 20. I noticed that when I set the screen off slider at like 70, the keyboard would kind of lagg when I would type. If I set that profile priority back to 20 then it goes away. Is that normal?

This is a great app. Any idea on Droid 2 Global overclock ability? I know it does not support it as of right now. How about in the future?

Just updated to 2.02 droid overclock and now closes

I put it on mine this morning (running Apex 1.3.1) and didn't have any problems. I froze SetCPU and QuickClock Advanced. Good Luck.
