DROIDX and DROID2 Finally Receive MIUI Ports!!

Just as I was giving up on rooting and was going to stick with sick GB after I just couldn't find a room that studied me, along comes MIUI. I am probably one of the few that had never heard of it but I was curious and gave it a shot last night. Love this rom! The UI iss beautiful and the themes are awesome. I heard a few people having minor issues but I have gone through and everything works to perfection. The only two things I can think that are slight drawbacks is the lower end video and picture quality. Hopefully, there will be a way to update that later.

At first, not having an app drawer took some getting used to but in the end it is not a problem. If there was a way to hide an icon that you didn't need on the desktop, it would be perfect.

There's a way to hide icons. You can create a folder and put apps in there. You can select to hide the application in the folders as well as name the folders too.

I have 5 folders... apps, games, media, etc

Yeah, I organized my stuff into folders and then had to make a folder for " junk". I know it is not taking up much space but I'd they're was a way to remove the icon workout uninstalling, that would be perfect.

Still having problems flashing miui, keep getting "install aborted assert failed: run_program ("/tmp/check_kernel" ) I'm running stock 2.2 so I'm not sure how the kernel could be wrong, any ideas?

miui requires a kernel that will accept the 2nd-init exploit... it is very likely that your kernel simply does not accept it, but i know that 2nd-init was discovered by milestone dev's... so there might be another version somewhere that you could use.

Everyone getting good battery life?

Better than cm7? Or liberty?

WAY better man! I was losing 10% per hour to hour n half on cm7 and liquid. That was with little use. I switched to miui, charged full, wiped batt stats and let my phone ALMOST die. I figured out if you don't let it completely die the battery calibration works way better?? anyways on miui my phone just lasted 36 hours 5 of which streaming pandora 3g and I still have 30%. Unreal!
