DROIDX2 Gingerbread Update Appears to Be Ready, Newest Version of Blur Included

this worked!! i now have android version 2.3.3 on my X2!! thank you for the post!!

dancedroid

I downloaded the file. Unzipped it and saved it to my SDcard. What do I do now to get GB on my Droid X2?

If you read through this thread a few people have posted step by step instructions already
And none of those instructions tell you to unzip it, rename the zip and put on phone

Yes place it in the ext- sd card folder and use the stock recovery that came with your phone you do not need root

My SD card doesn't have an "Ext" folder. Do I create one and place the renamed file (update.zip) in it? And is the name "Ext" or "Ext-" without the quotes, of course?

The Ext is the external SD card, there should already be a folder named that or if you're using a PC, just put it in the external SD Drive, you can look for the one with 8gb capacity.

Ext signifies the external sd storage save it on the sd card not in any folder

Thanks, guys! I have one last question. Stock Recovery -- is that where you do this:
•Power down
•Power up holding the power button and the down arrow at the same time and keep holding. You will see it say something to the effect of "Fast Boot." Now you can release.
•Press the down arrow until you get to "Launch (or boot) into Android Recovery" or something to that effect. (Roughly about 7 presses).
•Press BOTH the up and down arrow simultaneously. It will load the next window we all know.
•Now press the up AND down arrows again. Now it will put you into the menu screen.
•Up and down arrows are still used to scroll. Your power button is your "enter" or "select" key.

Yes that is stock recovery

I downloaded and installed from file .. works great

downloaded file to computer
renamed File to .... update ... dont rename it to update.zip (it automatically does the .zip part because it is a zip file)
move the update file to sdcard
then follow directions that have already been posted....
