Dropped data connection?

I am using Go Launcher and not hacking any problems. I just switched my wifi off and on 3 times at work and 3g picked up immediately each time.

I agree I have used the launchers before and no problem. I just know until the firmware update comes out I will not put another one back on my razr.

Also, turn off Wifi, and Wifi notification. In addition, don't install the auto Wifi from the Market that is in Verizon section. There will be a software OTA for this issue. If you have installed a launcher and uninstalled, do a factory reset to clear up their files.

Thanks KeepItReal. I forgot the factory reset after uninstall for adw and such.

Happened again while I was in class had to turn 4g back on and cycle airplane mode to get it to come back. Might have to go to the Verizon store.

Yeah mine keeps cutting in and out I am really sad I have been loving this phone. Not sure if I would have better luck with another one or not. I would assume it is possible since there are others that are not having any troubles.

I have been having problems since about 11:30 central time. I called a few mins ago and tech said some 4g phones are having problems and some aren't. He said there was an alert on matter and network guys are attempting to fix it so we shall see.

i know some of you may not care but go read the droid charge forums, the thunderbolt forums or the bionic forums .. i had all 3 phones, and you will see the same issue that this thread is about .. dropped data connection. if 3 4g phones, 4 counting the razr, from 3 different companies, all have the same issue, don't you think it may be the network and not just the phone? i know moto says they are working on a fix and i hope they can come up with one but to my knowledge, all of the 4g phones still drop data connections. what IS hard to understand, is that there are a lot of people that apparently have NO such issue, unless they never notice it or don't post to the forums? i must have gone through at least 10 sim cards trying to get a working 4g phone but every time the result would be the same AND i don't see verizon saying a lot about this 'issue', surely there must be a lot of people that have called them about it!!!!

i want to use my 4g phones and looked at the razr, thought about buying it, but then i saw all the posts about lost data connections and decided it wasn't worth the headaches again. it would be nice if the people that DON'T lose connection would chime in just to let us know there IS a santa claus, lol!!

maybe it really is like one person posted, something about the 3g layer on the 4g network, because my 3g phones don't lose their connection but my 4g phones, even when there was only 3g in my area, would drop the connection regularly... it's a head scratcher and i hope they can figure it out because i'd like to be posting to this forum from my razr, which i would buy if ever this problem is solved, and NOT lose connection while i'm posting...

good luck everyone, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll figure it out then i can stop using my iphone, lol

p.s. i'm telling you all this about my experience so that you don't go nuts thinking that it's only a problem with the razr and that adw or whatever launcher, is causing the problem, in my experience that is not true!!

If I could like your post in Tapatalk I would.

3G layer = eHRPD, and it was probably me as I over post that info because I'm convinced that's the bulk of the issue.

For what its worth, though, I had the Bolt as well, and while it had data connectivity problems, I don't remember them being as severe as the Bionic or Razr's (especially Bionic). Data was inconsistent, and some days 4G was unattainable, but I don't remember being completely without any data connection for long amounts of time like these two phones. Maybe selective memory though... ;)

My data connection finally came back on around 6:30. I am in an area that only has 3g, but glad I got to talk to a tech support that actually knew what was going on and gave me a timeline.

i ended up going through TWO each of the bionic, charge and thunderbolt .. all with the same issue. i can't really say that i remember one dropping the data connection more than the other though that may have been the case .. they all did it, lol, and as i posted earlier in this thread, the last verizon tech support person that i talked to even suggested that i not let the 14 day remorse period go by (that was with the bionic) because he could NOT come up with any kind of solution other than it being the network!!!! :(

My razr holds data great! I think some of the data stuff is when a phone can't reach 4g good and it gets stuck in between...
