OK...posting my experience.
I had an issue with the file I downloaded from the link in the OP. Not sure if it was a problem with that file or with transfering it from my computer to my Droid. When I realized I had a problem was in SPRecovery it said Can't Open E;/update.zip (bad file) aborting...blah blah blah". So I immediately deleted the update.zip from my sdcard and the original file I downloaded. Didn't even look to see what the problem might have been. I did notice the file on my SDCard was 7 mb and I knew it was supposed to be close to 77 mb. So I downloaded it directly from MyDroidWorld.
Tried to install without wiping data and cache. Had to try. I had a good backup so what harm could it do? Welll...it got stuck in the bootloop.
Went into SPRecovery...wipped data...wiped cache...reinstalled update.zip...wiped cache...wiped data again. Booted right up.
Logged into google account (after trying about ten different password combos...that was a little scary. Turns out I must have typed it wrong the first time cuz the first password I used was the right one). All my apps are in my app tray except for my GPS software that I could not find when I installed the first and second leak of Froyo. I hope the Market Fix works with this leak.
So chalk one more tick in the "Needed to wipe cache and data" column.
Running
Pierce@MyDroidWorld #212. kernel. Not sure if that came with the update.zip or if it is my old P3Droid 1000mhz kernel. But it feels pretty snappy so may just leave it alone for now. I have all P3s kernels for froyo on my sdcard so it won't be hard to play around with those.
Off to see if I can find Flash now.
