The rom is running great with the exception of two things:

first - battery life just gets sucked away. I'm not getting more than 10 hours on this build. No I don't have anything running in the background. ie: the weather channel.

second - where did my signal go? I was getting 3-4 bars before going to this rom. Now, just one. Yes, I did the *228 (a couple of times).

Anyone else having these problems?

I had to flash back to BB 1.1. This rom with these kernels simply run WAY too hot and eat up the battery WAY too fast.

Not for everyone. But do what works for you...

I have he market icon, and it "attempts" to start but it doesn't. So I can't install bubkis. Any help is much appreciated. I hate being the only one w this issue =/

Are you synced with gmail?

No im not, its not letting me sync either. when I go to gmail it says no accounts synced. when i go to add account i get a blank screen.
I tried in the menu/settings/accounts and sync and tried to add an account but theres no gmail option. it also says there is a problem with sync
Id take screen shots but i cant download any apps to do so

I love it, and are using the 800 kernel from p3droids mildly OC'd to its max. The Froyo OS runs so much cooler, and faster than 2.1 I get benchmark results over 1000! Maps work, wifi tethering, blue tooth voice dialing, yeah, it is a PORT! That means it is pretty stable, and is a real test version.

Me neither. My battery life has been just fine. And my signal always sucked at my house anyway, so I couldn't say either yes or no to the second one.

It's not in the settings. You can download the wifi hotspot app off the market though and it should work.

If your looking for wifi tether, you need to dl the app from the market.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. I'm still wondering why people are trying so hard to make it so market can update their maps to the version they already have on their phone...

So when google inevitably upgrades maps, we will be able to also in the normal way.

Odds are by the time there is another update to MAPS we'll not only have several custom ROM's, but the official 2.2 OTA.


Dont worry about MAPS for now.. .remember, this is a pre-release evaluation version of the ROM and you wont be using it for long most likely.

Yeah, I know... I'm overly anxious/paranoid about stuff like this and I'm sure it'll all be fine.

It appears i am not logged in. And all attempts to do so are thwarted. I don't know how i got this far without being able to sync with my account. phone works. Everything works except gmail/market/syncing.

Same here, but I'm also running setCPU and JuiceDefender, both of which (for me) have quite a noticeable effect on battery life. With very little use today, I've been off the dock about 4 1/2 hours, and the battery is still reporting 90%.

So you don't have the gmail app installed? Can't open it up and log in? Were you given the option on your first reboot with the new OS?
