I fixed tha Maps manual update problem. Simply went into /system/app and deleted the Maps.apk
Checked in /data/app to see if anything was in there regarding Maps and found nothing.
Back into the market to install Maps installed successfully.
This worked for me. YMMV

i used root explorer and when i select delete it says it cant because the system is read only. what do i do? i remember having this problem before but i cant remember what i did to fix it

Is there any alternative app/way? My bank card denies overseas transactions. :\

Yeah, you need to be mounted as read write in order to delete anything in system.

I tried this but Maps still failed to install from thew market

Same problem here, I do have version 4.2.0 installed from the CW Rom, could that be why the market version fails?

Does anyone have a mirror for the new kernals? We crashed mydroidworld....

Google's cached copy:

Froyo Overclocked Kernels includes *wifi* fix

same here Krish, i have froyo running, but i can't seem to access clockwork recovery to restore CM5071, even though rom manager allowed me to flash it and according to root explorer and setcpu SU has allowed permission, Droid just sits at the M logo, any help

Only thing faster than my froyo droid @ 1.2gz is this thread!

Those little dancing droids look like they've had too much coffie.

Many thanks to everybody involved! The apple serfs will never know how much fun this is :)

I installed 4.2 from the market, no problem at all.

Try Linda File Manager

Jeeze titanium backup is installed my apps one at a time and it's taking forever. Am I doing this wrong? I used to just open it up and install busybox using problems? and it would automatically restore my aps. Whats the easiest way to restore my apps?

Interesting, it says "Incompatible Version" when Maps tries to install on my phone.
