Froyo Release Thread

Okay so I'm stuck. When I ran the file from SPRecovery and rebooted, i now have Clockwork instead. When i go to install Froyo, it says file not found. I did exactly what the instructions said on the first page, unzip, put folder in /clockwork/backup and nothings happening! please help!

Try rebooting the phone first, if that don't work then erase that folder and readd it back.

I re flashed SPRecovery onto my droid and loaded the file on SPR, worked flawlessly.

You win one free internets, sir, and thank you!

i take this back about temp monitor. everything worked fine after shutting it down, but now it's come back. more digging needs be done.

problem with a two apps.

aldiko has the dot-dot-dot on book titles like koush's rom has.

other one's a bit more of a prob if you like monitoring temps and playing games. temp monitor seems to refresh the screen at the interval you set in preferences. what it does is in astro you'll see the icons refresh every sec, or playing games, the game will reset every 5 seconds.

other than that i've got no problems.

btw running with 1Ghz kernel. does take a bit longer to charge though than bb1.1 at 1Ghz.

ok ya forogt that you might have to flash to sprecovery depending on what you have now

as for the script error if you go into advanced and disable the script verification or what ever its called in the menu it will usually work

All right. I got it to work. Market is a lot faster but I'm still not seeing the Adobe Flash Player in the Market. Was I incorrect in thinking this would fix that?

apk is in the first post of this thread.

Ads are unbearable. I will need to go back to BB 1.1 if I dont get rid of them. I have been spoiled. Anyone know how?

I believe in the settings for the browser, you choose "Enable Plugins" and set it to "on Demand"...They are not bugging me yet though, so I have yet to try.

ANOTHER BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED (especially P3D!!!).

After applying the 1Ghz Kernel I am happily able to watch Justin TV live feeds. The quality really depends on the feed, so you might try a few. Tap on the screen to go full screen. This is a nice bridge till the Slingbox app comes out!

Hey guys, fantastic ROM! Couple of issues I've noticed so far and hoping for a resolution...

I've had this ROM on here for a few hours and Market is unbelieveably slow. No lie, opening Market, searching for an App, and telling it to download takes 5 minutes.

Also, Maps and a few other applications refuse to install. I did delete Maps in /system/app/ and tried to redownload and it's still not working.

Lastly, downloaded the 1250mHz kernel and SetCPU only clocks to 1100. Is there an issue with the 1250 kernel, SetCPU, or did the 1250 kernel get hosted as the 1100mHz?

Hopefully there are others seeing these issues too. Any testing that needs done, please let me know. I know adb and I'm not a n00b to Andorid like some of the others on here (regardless of my low post count

Thanks!

1. Known. Try the update.zip from Mechcondrid. It made the Market much faster for me.

2. Known. No fix as of now.

3. Known.

Ok, gonna try an experiment in regards to the Maps issue. I installed this ROM through SPrecovery, my friend did it using Clockwork. His maps install worked. Im going to install through Clockwork and see what happens..
