Galaxy Nexus: Looks Like December Launch

I just think Motorola needs to do a complete 'House Cleaning'..

Maybe Google will do something to this effect when the acquisition is complete..

Also, this falls into the rumor department, but just to quote someone on the moto forums:

"Word in the alley of the dark streets is Moto is going to have a super power hitting the shelves
right after the Nexus that will make it obsolete....just the word anyway. I'd hold your money for
another month or two...."

Now if this proves to be true, my guess is it's the Droid Dinara HD.

The Galaxy Nexus was unveiled at Google and Samsung's Ice Cream Sandwich event on October 19. How long does it take to release the phone? Answer: 1 month. The UK got the phone on November 17.

Crazy thought though....what if the LTE version of the phone is ugly?

How exactly do you figure this? Are you on the testing teams? Are you involved with the programming and updates? Software issues can be fixed hourly. They can be fixed up to the day of release, also, so that as soon as the phone is activated it can receive the program update.

Please don't be so impatient as to make assumptions about things.

Give me ONE example of a manufacturer delaying a full release because they found out via earlier partial release that their device had minor bugs. Nothing? Yeah, cause no manufacturer would ever do that. That looks terrible for the company and would cost them millions because everyone with a "broken" device would want it fixed. Apple denied their serious iPhone 4 issue until it got too much media attention. That bug rendered the phone useless, so they had to provide a "fix". Will Sammy or google provide a fix possible smaller bugs that exist on the GN? I say no way. Its delayed so VZW can maximize profits, plain and simple.

I think it's a mix of bug fixes and strategic planning. With that being said, whatever happened to Verizon exclusivity? I knew that was never going to happen.

The rumors and speculation are getting tiring, there's no way in hell I'm getting another device, just give me the damn phone already.

It will feel like a new phone, no doubt! It took me 9 months to overcome my fear of playing with the bootloader, but with all the great threads in the Droid section, it was very easy to follow. I promise you will be mind-blown after reinstalling a fresh Android OS. Liquid 3.2 just came out, so that will keep me tamed until the Nexus comes out.
I'm an IT tech, so I am always reformatting PCs and reinstalling operating systems. It's crazy how a fresh OS can make a PC like-new again. The concept is the same when it comes to phones. My Droid is probably faster than a lot of the newer phones, due to the optimization features that we can toggle. Do it man! :icon_ banana:

Thanks man, if I have any questions which I'm sure I will if u don't mind I will PM you when I go to do it. My buddy is gonna come over Friday and help me with it. Thanks again...

So I know u have spent some time on the moto forums, are u gonna get the GN or are you holding out cause of this Moto rumor? Id love to know there is a powerhouse from Moto coming that could tromp the GN just cause I'm a Moto guy. I could see the X2 dissapearing in the next few months for sure just wish there was more rumors/facts etc.

If I can get my D1 rooted this week and it feels like a new phone I just might hold off on the GN a lil longer but hard to say, the phone looks hot.

Nah, I have faith my Bionic will be perfect after the update, so I feel confident it will hold me over for 2 years :)

But their are many reports/rumors of the Dinara, vague at best, but all seem to have one familiarity mentioned in them, and that is it will be 'A Beast'. But we've heard that on so many phones, and like the other phones, we won't know till we have more info.

For this reason, I have simply stopped believing the rumored release dates; I sign up on the VZW site and when I get the e-mail; I know I can get excited about the phone. Forums and the internet can be a buzz kill is people take things too literally. I check for specs/bug/pics and enjoy the hype and comments or suggestions but I stop short of falling for release date BS.

Ok cool, I got two other questions... So would you recommend the Bionic and is the os 2.3.4? I waited and waited for that thing to come out and then when it did I didn't pull the trigger. The longer I waited the closer the nexus got and now here I am waiting again. The Razr is nice but the Bionic beats it in a few areas for me. Thanks.

For me, I like it. I can deal with the little issues that happen every now and than, and am confident the patch will fix these. I always try not to 'recommend' any particular phone to anyone as everyone has different expectations and needs in the devices they choose. And don't want to be blamed for recommending a phone and that person buying it and not being happy with it. But for me, the Bionic is great! :)

Very well said about the bionic. I to have the bionic and can deal with the very minor issues it has. Like you, once the patch comes out it will be a solid phone. May not be a top of the line phone but it will do until a good superphone comes out.

My instincts tell me the update/patch is going to be a lot more than what people are expecting.

Im not sure if the volume bug was just a software thing. The it apparently was doing it in the bootloader. I guess they could update the bootlader but lol, cant fix it beyond that. IDK if an ota would just fix that, maybe its hardware. But that bug was in the pentaband version not Vz lte.

In general, I agree with this. But very high ranking officials from both Samsung and Google have stated that the phone would be released in the states this month. VZW is apparently thumbing their nose at those individuals and giving it's customers the shaft by staying very tight lipped. If VZW thought those officials were wrong when they made their respective statements, one would expect them to have said so. But VZW left those statements unchallenged and thus feeding the speculation (one could say expectation) that the phone _*would*_ release by the end of the month. They've completely borked this phone's release. And when you start seeing videos like this , you know they've totally jumped the shark.
