Galaxy Note 2 waiting Lounge

I've had beautiful widgets for a long time and loved it. But it's totally crap now. I've uninstalled. Anyone else feel the same? The ratings and reviews in the google play store have dropped dramatically. Looks like the devs are going to have to bring back the old version. It was awsume.

I have the Ionic Guardian (Amazon.com: Ionic GUARDIAN Case for Samsung Galaxy Note II Note 2 N7100 (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories), a horizontal pouch (Amazon.com: Luxmo Horizontal Pebbled Leather Pouch Holster Case with Belt Clip and Loops for Samsung Galaxy Note i717 / i9220 / Note 2-Black: Cell Phones & Accessories), and a simple gel case.

The pouch holds the phone loose along the width and depth but not loose enough along the height to accommodate either case. The guardian doesn't slide easily into a pocket (too clingy). So for the moment I use the gel and my pocket.

Looking for a pouch/case combo that works well together.

So lets recap.......It is now one week after the GN2 was launched on Verizon after their delay for a month to remove/app the following Blocking mode. Google Wallet, MultiView limited, and WiFi persistent notification.

Today exactly one week from release we have Root, all applications in the MultiView, Blocking mode back, and yes even Google Wallet working! Even saw one person got the WiFi toggle back where you can just turn on and off like the others at the top. Oh and on one thing that is new the 4.2 Camera is also working on the GN2.

If anyone is missing links for any of the above let me know and I can post them. BUt would like to thank EVERYONE that helped and all the work that was done by the DEVS to get the Verizon GN2 back how it should have been in the first place. Only thing I think we are waiting on is the unlocking to support other ROMs.

Verizon take note you screw up the phone and we just put it back how it should be so just stop playing around and let us have things on time and not a month or even more for updates later!

I've never rooted a phone because I'm afraid I might brick it or void the warranty but need to consider it on my vzw gn2 because I need to be able to input foreign APNs. Could someone please explain to me the risks and downside of doing it as well as refer me to easy instructions on how to do it? Thanks very much.

Sry for the bad writing. Got almost a hour on 10% of battery use. Screen time non stop on this could be close to 9hrs today if I pushed it. Usually average 7. This was on 4G, no wifi, location services on, screen on dimmest setting. Idk why there is a break in the network signal cause I was surfing the net almost the entire time since its been off the charger. It always seems to reports a break in signal but never see it. Werid but anyways amazing battery life.

haven't heard of a top tier phone being bricked at all, let alone something simple like rooting

soft bricks happen but its an easy yet time consuming task to fix

haven't seen a warranty void either

can someone correct me?

my recommendation is check YouTube... I get all my hack tutorials from there

It is actually very easy of you have a windows PC. Week try and post a link in a bit unless someone beats me to it. There is even a video to walk you through it. Risks are small just don't interrupt it during the process. You can be done in like 10 min. Won't even void warranty of you have a problem you can unchecked z box and two files get deleted and everything is back to stock. That takes like seconds :)

Some had to Reflash of they had problems but again simple. Also might not even have to lose anything setup already on the phone. If you have any problems after you will have to backup and restore cause then you will want to factory reset so to say but then again not that big of a deal. I used root explorer that is a great app I bought that so can do most through that. Also titanium backup to make backups bought that too awhile back makes restores easy.

Rooting is probably the least likely of the things you could do to your phone that would cause a brick. Usually there is a simple process that's already been well tested and is known safe and if there are risks then you can read about it. What you want to watch for is that there is a simple way to return to stock in case you need to return the phone for some reason. As far as warranty is concerned, they may refuse to support you if you hand them a rooted phone to fix, but if you unroot properly, they will not know you had rooted.

What causes a brick are the things you do to the phone after you root. Suffice it to say that you should read before you start removing apps or adding ROMs and follow directions carefully.

Here is a link that should help you understand a bit more: Galaxy Note 2 Hacking and Mods and a link to rooting this phone: Galaxy Note II Rooting With Video Tutorials [Windows/Mac/Linux]

U can customize the BW apps and widgets. I didn't like it after the recent updates til I figured out how to customize it again. I like it again now, but would also love to know if there are any other good apps out there since BW came along.

so my note 2 has been off the charger for 36 hours and 35 minutes and still has 21% battery left. I am going to wait until it gets down to 10% and then plug it in. This is the best phone ever for battery life that I have owned!! :)

Oops sorry for the double post.

I've always liked BW for the home screen clock/weather widget. I'd be interested to know what others are out there similar or better.

Wow that's great! I haven't been so lucky with mine lasting more than about a day. I don't watch videos or stream music. :-\
