Having An Issue With 2.1 - Come In Here

Is anyone having problems with the weather widget that comes with 2.1? It hasn't been working for a week or two now. It just says, "Sorry, weather currently unavailable."

negative. Drop the widget in the trash then reset it on homescreen.

See if that works

My led wont blink after the updte for sms and email aps i downloaded from the market...any help. I couldnt find anything related to this in the forums. Thanks guys!!

Be honest.. did your really read this thread?.. its mentioned 3 times that I know of because I posted one of them...... do a test and send your phone something that requires a led alert but make sure your screen is off.

You can't see it if your screen is on.... which I think is dumb as it could till be overlooked.

I did this test as you described and my LED will not blink from handcent notifications, even after a re-install / battery pull

:rofl3: I would wager not!

I'm part of the group that is having Gallery problems too. I deleted my previous icon, and created a new one. It seems to work fine as a stock shortcut, but a BetterCut shortcut for the gallery goes into instant FC loops.

Even if I fire up Gallery from the app drawer I can get in to it, use it, and choose "back" to get out of the app... and it ends up in a FC loop again. I don't get it.

did you install the APK that was out a while ago for the 2.1 Gallery?

If so you need to uninstall it from your applications.

Settings/Manage Applications/Menu/filter/All/ Find the old gallery and uninstall it.

I did indeed uninstall it, as well as the odd "com.cooliris..." apk that was sitting in settings\applications. Still FC's on me.

Ok, so I have the droid and updated to 2.1. The issue I'm having is that my menu tab at the bottom of my home screen did not change. I've seen videos where the update changes the grey menu tab at the bottom to white dots. Any idea on why this didn't change? Thanks!

:welcome: to the forum. There are no white dots on the menu tab of this update. Your video was of a different build.

SO I've never been rooted, adn I just got the OTA update actually OTA, adn I still don't see Google Earth installed or in the market.

So no one else but me is getting the bootloader corrupt data screen after trying to upgrade OTA to 2.1?

Did you have this Launcher in your Droid: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ve-launcher2-before-updating-ese81-2-1-a.html

OTA updates will have issues though rare. If you've been hit with one I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Verizon store. After all it is their update.

Is the launcher an installed app?

If so, I did not install it. I actually never did anything out of the ordinary to my phone including dropping it or getting it wet (the liquid indicators will attest to this with their unbiased red X's indicators) or rooting the phone and installed only market approved applications.

Verizon is sending me a new phone over night for $8.99 and it would have been free if I wanted to wait two days as opposed to one. I just need to send them my current brick within ten days or they charge me.

I don't see it either, but it's not a big deal to me. If I want to use Google Earth I use my computer. It takes up a lot of space on the Droid anyway.

Apparently there is an issue with some people being able to see Google Earth in the market and some not. I don't think anyones found an answer yet, but at least you're not alone! :greendroid: :greendroid:
