Having An Issue With 2.1 - Come In Here

I've been having issues with my Exchange emails not sending after the update. They just sit in the outbox. The app even forced closed on me for the first time ever.

I got my 2.1 update yesterday and have noticed a few things I don't like that 2.0.1 seemed to do better.
Scrolling seems to be really rough and jumpy now where as before, it was very smooth, whether online or scrolling through apps and settings
Also, I noticed when scrolling on webpages, pics tend to get a little pixelated until the scrolling stops. I never noticed that before.
And when typing web addresses or typing on the web, my phone used to vibrate on each key press, now it doesn't. I liked this feature but can't find any way to reactivate it.
Is anyone else having issues like this? I got my update OTA, firmware version 2.1-update1

@jimmypop13,

For the keypress vibrations, go to menu>settings>language & keyboard>android keyboard and make sure that "vibrate on keypress" is selected.

The jumpy scrolling is a documented issue, the frame rate has been halved, apparently to save battery life.

Haven't really noticed the pixelation during scrolling but sounds like that could be a framerate issue, too.

Cool, I guess I just missed the vibrate option when I looked before.

Has there been any word if they are planning on fixing the framerate issue? I'd rather have full framerate and less battery than the way it is now

I'm getting some erratic behavior with 2.1.
Sometimes after the screen turns off, the home keys stay lit.
Sometimes the light sensor goes wacky and it's super bright with no home keys in a dark room, then super dark with home keys lit in a bright room.

Sometimes it takes Beautiful Widget 5 seconds or more to appear on the screen.

My Big Issue

Here's my (and my wife's) big complaint about this update.

It's unstable!

we're both running stock droids with few similar apps between us. We are both running the water live wallpaper.

At least once a day, everything on the screen will disappear, and takes several (15-30) seconds for things to start to reappear.
The phone will randomly reboot itself.
Folders will randomly quit working (this was an issue with the previous version) they just wont open.
I will get FC's while on the desktop, although I'm not sure what is FCing at this point. I'm guessing the wallpaper.

My biggest problem is, I really have no idea who to complain to about the issues. I know if I go to verizon they are just going to want to reset to factory, which wont really solve anything because i'll end up reinstalling them mostly due to the daily use.

The live wallpapers suck. They drain the battery and slow up the Droid. Not worth it.

Uninstalled!!!!

I'm not so sure it's the live wallpapers actually causing the issues in the new update. I think there's some things running even if you turn them off. To tell you the truth, I'm thinking about reloading a task killer just to try to regain control. I think it's BS that this would be the solution though.

Have you tried to do a battery pull? Do it for a full 30 seconds. If that doesn't help then do a factory reset from the privacy settings.

It is a very stable OS, I've had a couple of issues myself but once I fixed them it's worked fine.

Same thing for you, try a 30 second battery pull. If this does not resolve the issue then do a factory data reset from the privacy settings.

Actually the live wallpapers have been running fine on my phone. Battery life had improved greatly even with live wallpapers running and they never slow down my phone.

I did a factory reset just so I can see Google Earth in the Market. I noticed afterwards that my phone was running much smoother, but the email is just a little screwy, but that might just be the nature of the stock email app. :)

So far so good

Since the upgrade my Droid seems a lot snapper. No problems with voice, vidieo, or music. It just seems faster I have noticed the battery lasting longer. The only bummer is no Flash player.
