Here We Go Again.. ICS Release Date May Be Close!!

Agreed. The current Gingerbread build on the RAZR/MAXX is incredibly smooth and stable. It's the most stable build of Android that I've ever had on any of my phones, including stock ICS on the Galaxy Nexus. Much of that is due to Gingerbread's age and the familiarity that Motorola has in working with it. So, I definitely want them to take the time to get ICS right rather than pushing out a buggy mess.

hahaha what?

It crashes and freezes all the time. It random reboots. The battery dies in under 6 hours if you have data on. It is a total **** build. Absolutely terrible.

I've never had any problems with crashes, freezes, or random reboots, and I think most people around here would attest to having a similarly impressive experience. In fact, I've only had one random reboot in the over two months that I've had the MAXX, which, after having over 20 different Android phones, is incredible to me. It sounds like you've got something else that is causing problems other than the OS build.

Don't seem to be having any of those problems on my Razr.

If this was entirely true then it would not be VZW's top selling device. There are more that think this version of GB is far greater than any other and I tend to agree. I am hoping ICS is just as stellar. As far as the battery life on the razr you are right. It sucks. It really sucks. Randoms reboots? Haven't experienced that. Crashing and freezing? Maybe once (i think).

I had similar issues with my Droid X and D1.....but that was because of root and messing around with custom roms and such. That very well could be your dilemma

Your phone might have a defective update install or have app conflicts. I would factory reset and remeter the battery if I were you.

RAZR 2.3.6 is considered one of the most stable builds of any phone currently out.

My experience as well. With 170 apps installed, it amazes me that I never have crashes, freezes or force closes. Two times my Maxx rebooted on me and totally freaked me out. Then I calmed myself by remembering it happens sometimes and that I was only freaking because it was a foreign experience with my Maxx. The phone is unbelievable. And I'm in no hurry for ICS in hopes that it will be just as flawless.

Try this.. I do this once a week my razr has always run smoothly and my battery life is on average around 16 hours( on medium use).. I installed fast reboot and 1 click cleaner from the market the process is as follows: hit the fast reboot icon then hit 1 click cleaner go into your task manager kill every app, refresh and make sure they're all killed then I go to applications in settings (running services) stop every app and also kill cached apps ... then power off the device leave it for about 15 minutes then soft reset it to turn it back on when it turns on and the lock screen appears let it sit for 1 minute to fully boot up ... works for me ;)

Totally off topic, but you just reminded me of a quote:

Now that is your optimistic viewpoint of the day.

Now that is funny.. .

hope for the ambulance
but expect the hearse!

So let's talk odds. I think it is 30-1 we get ICS tomorrow!

You're so pessimistic.

Don't want to rain on your parade but there's been no soak yet. You all know how this game is played, no soak no update.
